Your dog desires guidance on a leash. The tool you use, whether it’s a prong collar or a slip leash, isn’t the primary source of this guidance. True guidance comes from your confidence and ability to handle your dog.

A prong collar or a slip leash may provide control, but they don’t inherently teach your dog how to walk properly or respond to commands. They can often lead to discomfort or confusion for your dog if not used correctly. Instead, your presence, calm demeanor, confidence and consistent training is what makes a difference.

Remember, the goal is to build a trusting relationship where your dog feels secure and understands what is expected during walks. This bond, reinforced through consistent, confident handling, is what ultimately provides the best guidance for your dog on a leash.

This girl needs a home!

Found in Indianapolis this morning.

Roughly 6-9 months old. She has her adult teeth in and they have been growing in for a little bit!

I just assessed her for the person that found her.

She is very food motivated.
Interested in toys, with some play!
She met 2 dogs through fencing had no issues.
Went right into a crate. Once door was closed and I was out of sight she laid down.

A little nervous but overall very very friendly.

Already taken to IACS and no chip found.

Whoever decides to take her will get some free training support from me! Cora Minkis at Canine Connected
