Bonjourno! We have a special delivery. You guessed it, more goaties!

Two of our mama goats both pulled twins out of the oven on 7/22. Roni had the two boys in the first picture. Moments later Rella had the girl and a boy in the second picture!

Rella and Roni are twin sisters that were born here around 2018. One of our customers (a little girl that was 5 or so years old at the time) named Roni, Pepperoni, bc she is mostly all black but has a single white spot on her side. It reminded the little girl of a pepperoni. So we named Rella, Mozzarella, to keep up!

Rella and Ronis twins are in with the main herd and doing great! Stop by anytime, Ciao! #😊🍕🐐🐐

You know what? MonkeyFace appreciation post.

MonkeyFace is the oldest cat we currently have on the farm. We picked her and her brother Kobe up from some relatives on the Eastern Shore back in 2015. She's been showing people love and helping keep the rats down ever since! Wow, y'all should have seen the farm back then, time flies.

If you've ever heard MonkeyFace's raspy meow or let her crawl into your lap or got to feel her affections in any way, show her some love in the comments y'all. We might even read them to her 🤪.

God Bless You All 👋😺

Kitties! We've had a few more come in recently.

These two sisters are remarkable, quite the lookers! They've already been spoken for before we could even get this post up but we do have a few others that have come in that are up for adoption.

Hope you all are doing well, and enjoying this beautiful weather. We'd love if you came spent some of it with us!

Have a great week y'all 😺😺

Bottle babies!

We got in touch with a hobby farmer who inherited a large herd of goats from a passing neighbor. They had alot of pregnant mama's and kids on their hands and needed to thin the herd some. We agreed to take these four little goaties!

They are being bottlefed and now y'all can help us daily! We will have daily feedings at 9 am and 3 pm through August. Come at those times to give us a hand!

*Bottles are $5 each and we have a limited amount each feeding*

Have a great day y'all and we hope to see ya soon! 🍼🐐🐐

Midsummer goaties!

This round our girls Palmer and Sailor both provided twins.

Palmer had the good looking pair on the left. A buckling and a doeling. They are both still up for grabs!

Sailor had the two sweet girls on the right. Both have since been sold.

Both pairs are in with the main herd and ready to be visited! We've got more on the way too y'all. It would be a good week or two to come visit, you might even witness a kidding!

Hope you all have a wonderful week 🙂🐐🐐

It All Started With Two Goats

TO GIVE THE CLEAREST POINT OF VIEW ONTO HOW BERGEYS BARNYARD CAME ABOUT WE HAVE TO GO WAY BACK. THE PIECE OF LAND THAT OUR PETTING ZOO IS ON HAS BEEN IN THE BERGEY FAMILY FOR A LONG TIME. IN 1933 TITUS BERGEY BOUGHT THE FARM THAT WAS HERE FROM HIS FATHER IN LAW. HE ALSO ADDED COWS TO THE FARM AND STARTED BERGEYS DAIRY. THE DAIRY GREW AND WAS PASSED ONTO THE NEXT GENERATIONS. IN 2005 THE DAIRY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. IN 2006 TITUS'S GRANDSON HAROLD BERGEY, ALONG WITH OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, OPENED BERGEYS BREADBASKET, THE BAKERY/DELI/ICE CREAM SHOP THAT IS STILL HERE! IN 2011 TITUS'S GREAT GRANDSON , JOEL BERGEY MOVED TO CHESAPEAKE TO WORK AT THE BREADBASKET. THE FARM AT THE TIME HAD NO ANIMALS. THE BARNS WERE BASICALLY BEING USED AS LARGE STORAGE SHEDS, FULL OF ALL KINDS OF STUFF! ONE DAY JOEL'S SISTER, LAURA, SAID "JOEL, WE SHOULD GET SOME GOATS!" JOEL THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD IDEA AND AGREED. A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER LAURA SHOWED UP WITH A COUPLE OF BABY NIGERIAN DWARF GOATS IN A CARDBOARD BOX IN THE BACK OF HER BEAT UP HONDA CIVIC. STOCKTON AND MALONE. AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF WATERING AND FEEDING STOCKTON AND MALONE JOEL REALIZED THEY WEREN'T "THEIR" GOATS, THEY WERE "HIS" GOATS. HE ALSO NOTICED THAT BREADBASKET CUSTOMERS ENJOYED VISITING WITH THE GOATS. IT WASN'T LONG AFTER HE DECIDED TO GET TWO PIGS "PIGGY AND CHARLOTTE" AND A DONKEY "BUDDY". DUCKS AND MORE GOATS FOLLOWED. THE CUSTOMER REACTION WAS GOOD BUT THE EXPENSES WERE STARTING TO PILE UP! JOEL CONSIDERED EITHER DOWNSIZING OR CREATING A SELF SUSTAINABLE PETTING ZOO. ULTIMATELY HE CHOSE THE LATTER AND ADDED MANY MORE ANIMALS AND PENS AND THATS HOW BERGEY'S BARNYARD WAS BORN!
