Counting down the days! So we’re in the final month of Mirage health tests and the last couple of shows before we begin our next litter! For those we’re already talking with, watch your email for our paperwork so we’re all on the same page, and for anyone else interested in potentially having one of our pups join your household, please drop me a request for puppy application to [email protected] and we can get the introductions started. I am getting excited as we approach this season and can’t wait to grow our Heritage family.

Truly got mail!! So excited and still a bit stunned that this beautiful little bred-by pup of mine has done so well at the other end of the leash, given how poorly I move around the ring. And she loves it! Look for much more out of our girl, although she's taking a pause to have girly time while Bob hits the road seeking his own titles over the next sixty or so days.

The dogs, already great travelers, are really enjoying the spacious back seat area in our new truck, especially with the seats folded up out of the way. Those are their Kurgo traveling harnesses, tested and rated safe by the DOT and the NHSA.

Pending AKC Truly is now GCH CH Heritage Truly A Renegade!!! Many thanks to all the judges who find our girl and to Jennie LaPrade for letting us make this beautiful girl with her beloved Argos and our sweet Mirage. Also thanks to all our fellow breeders and exhibitors for coming out to make majors (LOVE our western region cooperation!) and to those who have jumped in to help mentor, handle, and encourage us. I never thought I would show, or could finish a champion, and now I have my first bred-by Grand Champion!

Update: a lovely lineup in Herding Group and very well-run by judge Butch Schulman, congratulations to the four winners and yheir deserving dogs. Then on to NOHS, again kudos to the judge Nancy Simmons for a fun ring and my Truly garnered NOHS Group 3!

A special shout put to the ring stewards today who, without exception , ran smooth rings, were upbeat, smiling and encouraging and seemed to really be having a great time. Well done, DMKC.

Looking forward to our 8 am ring time tomorrow.

Currently enjoying the Del Monte KC show in Carmel By The Sea; loving the weather, the judges and stewards, and as soon as I can, I shall be patronizing the vendors! Truly took BoB over Bob who did his level best to represent and help Mark and me around the lovely level grass rings. One more point for Grand. Very interested today to meet folks who came out specifically to meet up with us and see our dogs so they can start planning for their Mirage puppy!! I will be sending out puppy applications and sample contracts on Tuesday so email us at [email protected] if you’d like to be added to my mailing list. And please feel free to come see us here at Carmel Middle School or get ahold of me on where we can meet up as we drive around the PNW.

A successful weekend at the Bahia Sur shows held at the lovely Bates Nut Farm; two of the three days Truly went Best of Breed, and Saturday Bob garnered his first Best of Breed over two very nice Champions! Thanks to judges Temple Deptuch, Laurel Deptuch and Richard Paquette, all of whom were upbeat, definitely having fun and definitely encouraging to my dogs. Many thanks to Becky Reagles and our young Junior Handler Carlee Belenzon for their participation and handling, we couldn’t have done it without you ladies. I look forward to our next shows!

With a delightful National Specialty (thank you Star Ott and all the helping hands a million times and then some!) behind us it's time to start preparing for a much-anticipated Mirage litter; this will be her last and should produce some very VERY nice puppies if her previous litter is any example, and we're taking requests for puppy applications at [email protected] so get ahold of me some how and let's make the magic happen!

Finally a not-moist day so we can practice the show ring stuff ahead of the Silver Bay Kennel Club shows at the lovely Del Mar Fairgrounds next week. Bob is ready - ish, Truly is so eager to go she runs to the car every time I finish brushing her, and Riley and Mirage have been sleeping next to the folded crates so we don’t sneak out without them. Silly pups.

What a weekend! We headed over to Surprise, AZ for our annual participation in the Kachina KC shows and had a lovely time. We got to hang out with Cathey and Dash, Jennie and Kuma and Murphy, and Deb and Basil. Bob got some much-needed (and valuable) experience, Dash and Basil each snagged three-point majors, and Riley slid in under the radar (not really - he’s such a ham) and snagged a five point major with his Select. Many thanks to the family, too, for bingo and pizza - love you, Daryl and Lisa.

Next stops to be determined, but watch this space for the schedule.
