A dog that is not okay on its own is not a balanced dog. Every dog deserves to feel secure within themselves enough that you can walk away and leave without them freaking out. I practice this consistently as it is important to me my dog is confident enough to be okay should I leave them at home or in a weird place. What some see as a down stay, I see as a perfect opportunity to practice self confidence. I can put this dog on nearly anything that he fits on and he will stay. This is super important for a service dog as he may be required to get on rides or get on objects he is unfamiliar with. I want him to trust me and I want to trust him. This was during a training session, where I was working with someone else and I asked him for a down stay. I put him here, knowing I have never asked this of him and he was happy to be there for almost 30min. Couldn’t be more proud of my boy

No it isn’t perfect. But this is an off leash heel, with mistakes, but he corrected himself. Score for the big man! He has only been working off leash for about 2 weeks but has picked up on it so quickly because he has the right foundation. I did no corrections, no guidance, just reminded him to heel and move on. Yes, he has on a minieducator, but this is for both his safety and mine. Should something happen, I can call him back quickly.

At 7 months old, he is learning off leash guide work. Is it perfect? Nope! But for the first time he was given any tension in the guide handle and he did beautifully. Hello beautiful people! I hope you are having a fantastic day! I charge $50/ session and sessions usually are an hour. I practice balanced training, where positive reinforcement is brought along with as little correction needed.

I started training horses at a young age, but I broke my back, making riding nearly impossible due to pain. I was missing training and as my need for a service dog grew, so did my knowledge of training dogs. I have spent countless hours training my own service dogs and pets that I am now bringing my experience to you.
