💙 The Backbone of Veterinary Medicine 💙
As we wrap up Vet Tech Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate the people who keep this hospital running, our veterinary nurses.
Most people don’t get to see what happens when a vet tech steps out of the exam room or what all they’re truly doing in the back of the hospital.
At Roper Mountain, they’re the friendly face who checks you in for your appointment and the voice returning your call about a medical concern or question.
But what happens beyond those doors is something truly extraordinary.
✨ Our techs are everywhere at once.
They’re running bloodwork, reading cytology slides, taking X-rays, placing IV catheters, monitoring anesthesia, assisting in surgery, cleaning instruments, restraining safely for treatments, and preparing medications, all while keeping a gentle hand on a nervous patient and an eye on what’s happening in the next room.
They carry the weight of both science and emotion. One moment they’re calculating precise doses and interpreting lab results, and the next they’re kneeling on the floor to comfort a patient who just needs to be held.
They see heartbreak and hope, sometimes in the same hour, and still show up the next day ready to do it all again.
Behind every healthy recovery, every safe anesthesia, every peaceful goodbye, there’s a vet tech who made it possible.
They are the backbone of every doctor and the heartbeat of every hospital.
To our Roper Mountain vet techs, thank you for your skill, your strength, your compassion, and your heart. You are extraordinary, and we are endlessly grateful for you. 💙
