⚡️🐶 Polo’s Shocking Snack 🐾

Meet Polo—the pup who thought a battery looked like a tasty treat! 😳🔋

This curious boy landed in our ER after helping himself to a chewed-up battery (10/10 do not recommend). Radiographs confirmed the chewed up culprit, and our team got right to work. Polo was sent home with tummy-protecting meds and a gourmet plan of frequent canned meals 🍽️—because who doesn't love an all-you-can-eat wet food buffet while waiting to pass some mystery metal?

Feel better soon, Polo! And maybe next time… stick to chew toys. 💙🐾

Meet Moxie 🐾

Moxie came to our ER when she was having trouble delivering her puppies. During her exam, our team noticed she had a fever and abnormal discharge—indicators of potential complications. She was immediately taken into surgery for an emergency C-section.

Thanks to the quick action of our emergency team, Moxie did great under anesthesia and is now back home recovering comfortably. 💕 We're thrilled to share that four sweet puppies were safely delivered and are now getting lots of love and care.

We’re so proud of this strong mama and grateful to have been part of her journey. 💪🐾

🚨🐾 Today is 🐾🚨

House fires are devastating—and when they do, knowing where to turn for help is everything.

Today, we’re honored to share Sadie’s story, a touching reminder of how quickly emergencies can happen. Sadie was brought to CVES after her family experienced a house fire. Thankfully, everyone—including Sadie—is okay. Her owners acted quickly to get her the care she needed, and we’re so happy to share that Sadie is doing great! 💙🐶

Her family was kind enough to share a heartfelt video testimonial about their experience. They spoke about how comforting the CVES team was during such a stressful time and how much it meant to feel supported when it mattered most.
🎥 Watch their story below.

As we honor National Pet Fire Safety Day, here are a few ways to help keep your pets safe:
🔥 Keep pets away from open flames
🔥 Have an emergency plan and practice it regularly
🔥 Keep leashes, crates, and carriers near exits
🔥 Inform rescuers about your pets and where they might hide
🔥 Ensure your pets are microchipped and wearing ID tags

If your pet ever needs emergency care, we’re here for you, 7 days a week. Call us at 931-551-2121.

07/14/2025

Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) surgery is primarily performed to treat cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) disease or injury - one of the most common orthopedic conditions seen in veterinary medicine. This ligament is normally responsible for the stability of the knee joint.

A TPLO involves altering the joint angles of the knee by making a cut in the tibia, rotating it, and securing it in a new orientation with a bone plate and screws. By doing so, the CCL is no longer needed to maintain stability.

If your pet is referred to CVES for surgery, you will receive detailed instructions about your pet's gradual return to normal activity in the months following their TPLO surgery. If you have any questions leading up to your pet's appointment, please don't hesitate to contact us at 931-551-2121.
