Good Morning!
Let me explain a bit about why we are running this canvas fundraiser/auction (despite obvious reasons)
🔸Despite being shut down, we still have many animals in our care. Many fawns (including a piebald babe) are still on milk and will require rehabilitation for at least another month or two.
🔸 Funds raised help with medications or vet visits as medical issues arrise, milk for growing babies, electricity for our facility building which houses food/medications/animals and repairs to things such as fencing-when needed.
Now, it is no mystery as to why we are shut down, with my husband being laid off from his 15+ yr full time job- things are VERY tight financially and some shifting in our lives is having to happen.
But in adddition to this, (as if things werent stressful enough) we experienced an obscene act of retaliation & vandalism just a few short weeks ago. I havent said much about it and won’t say much more, as investigations are still ongoing but repairs that could not wait to the fawn pen, are underway. Security measures are also being upgraded. Unfortunately, none of the above is cheap and they all require stretching already thin finances.
This act of pure hate has left me speechless and angry. However, I’m a firm believer that karma comes around and the local individuals responsible will get what’s coming to them, sooner rather than later.
