Gulliver's Groom and Board

Gulliver's Groom and Board Hi, I’m Jen, owner of Gullivers Groom and Board with 25 years of experience. Worth the drive for peace of mind. 🐾💛

I offer gentle, one-on-one grooming and home-based boarding in a calm, cozy setting—ideal for senior, anxious, or special-care dogs. Hi, I’m Jennifer, owner of Gulliver's Groom and Board. I’ve been caring for dogs professionally for over 25 years, and my heart has always been with providing gentle, thoughtful care in a calm and loving environment. I offer one-on-one grooming and home-based boardin

g from my quiet, out-of-the-way home. Because I work with a limited number of dogs, each pup receives unrushed attention, soft handling, and plenty of patience—no loud salons, no busy kennels, and no pressure. Just a peaceful space where dogs can relax and feel safe. I especially love working with senior dogs, puppies, anxious dogs, and those who need a slower, kinder approach. Many of my clients come to me because their dogs don’t thrive in fast-paced environments, and they’re looking for a place that feels more like home. I may not be the closest option, but clients often tell me the calm setting and personal care make the drive worth it. For boarding, dogs stay in my home as part of my daily routine, with experienced supervision and lots of comfort. It’s a cozy alternative for pet parents who want their dogs cared for as individuals, not placed in a kennel. I believe grooming and boarding should be gentle, respectful, and built on trust. Every dog is unique, and I take the time to listen to both you and your pup so their experience feels safe, comfortable, and familiar.

Ticks are exploding across the U.S. this year, and they’re much more than a creepy nuisance. These parasites are incredibly efficient at attaching, feeding, and transmitting disease, without you ever noticing. The longer a tick stays attached, the greater the risk of exposure to Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, and several other serious infections. But just because your dog has had exposure doesn’t mean they’re infected; discerning the difference is crucial, and smart medicine.
In my latest article, I cover where ticks like to hide, how to perform a thorough full-body tick check, the safest way to remove a tick, and why monitoring your pet afterward is just as important as removing the parasite itself. I also explain the differences between 4DX, Accuplex, and QC6 testing, and why early detection makes all the difference, regardless of what parasite control program you are using.
When you combine proactive screening with consistent parasite checks and a parasite protocol that make sense for your lifestyle and location, you can dramatically reduce the chances that a tick bite turns into a much bigger problem. Link to my article is in the comments. 🐾🕷️

In a 6-week head-to-head trial, a turmeric extract outperformed glucosamine + chondroitin. Dogs showed less pain and limping, better joint movement and weight-bearing, and improved activity and quality of life. Both helped, but turmeric consistently delivered stronger results.

This wasn’t a combo, it was a direct comparison: turmeric vs glucosamine + chondroitin.

Key insight: managing pain and protecting cartilage are not the same. Most joint supplements aim to support cartilage, not reduce pain. This study highlights the need for both approaches if you actually want to improve how dogs feel and move.
