The IAED Annual Conference 2024 - presentation by Jim Koostra, IAED/C, KY, USA. Jim presented his research looking at the statistical relationships between dental work, conducted on geriatric horses and their body conditions scores. The research established a relationship between regular dental work and improved body condition score. Other fascinating details emerged from the study, where Jim looked at such specifics such as age ranges, malocclusion types and breed differences.This is just a small sample of the slides that were part of the presentation.

These two horses have been so much fun to restart and retrain as jumper/hunters and they’ve been showing some dressage too.
Training and undoing prior race training takes time and dedication combined with education and insight. It is so rewarding to see them grow in trust and come to love their new jobs and get enjoyment from working.
