Tips for traveling with your pet, especially seniors and mobility challenged pets! 🐾

One of the most significant barriers for mobility-challenged dogs is entering and exiting vehicles. Consider the type of vehicle you own and its accessibility. SUVs and trucks often present height challenges, while smaller cars may have limited space. When loading and unloading:

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Use a Help ‘em Up harness to give them just enough support to get in and out. Remember to let them do as much as they can.

𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘀: Ramps can provide a gradual incline. Choose a ramp with a non-slip surface and appropriate length and weight capacity.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀: Steps are suitable for smaller dogs or those with minor mobility issues. Ensure the steps are sturdy and stable.

Equipment like portable ramps, steps with a wide base, and supportive lifting harnesses is invaluable. Introduce new equipment gradually, well before you set off on your trip. Travel should feel familiar, not stressful.
