Good morning. I am currently at the knee surgeon's office this morning. I am hopeful that the bone is fusing and that my healing process is progressing favorably. My knee caused some discomfort last night, experiencing swelling. It is indeed challenging to rest it when life presents numerous obligations. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

My surgeon's appointment went well. The X-ray looks excellent, and the healing process seems to be progressing as expected. He emphasized the importance of taking it easy, as swelling and some fluid buildup are normal. I'm cleared to start swimming and bicycling, and I have a full leg extension from 0 to 120 degrees. I won't need further physical therapy sessions, but I'll continue my home exercises twice daily, incorporating swimming and cycling. The occasional instability and clicking are also normal at this stage of healing. I should avoid kneeling for at least 15 weeks post-op. It takes a full 3 months for the bones to start fusing to the new prosthetic. Come October, I should start feeling more normal. I do have
To take breaks in between dogs and ice my knee. All in all, I'm healing well, and that's the goal.

I returned to work a week ago, and I've found it necessary to take breaks and ice my knee frequently throughout the workday. This has resulted in a slightly longer processing time for my tasks. Furthermore, I've had to reschedule several large dogs due to the need for assistance. I'm unable to stand for extended periods at the bathtub or sit at the table without experiencing 🦵leg swelling. I appreciate all the support and understanding that my pet parents have afforded me.

Today has been quite challenging. Yesterday involved physical therapy, followed by some work at my salon. My knee has swollen considerably, and ice isn't providing much relief today. I'm unable to walk normally, and my pain level is currently a six. My pain medication isn't yet effective, and I'm experiencing dizziness, paleness, and sweating. My main goal today was to get my salon back in order, but my anxiety is very high due to concerns about my pet clients and the need to cancel some appointments.

Dear Pet Parents,
I wanted to share a quick update with you regarding my recovery from knee replacement surgery. Unfortunately, my healing is going slower than I had hoped. I was optimistic about returning to full-time work next week, but it looks like I’ll need a bit more time.
Starting next week, I will be working part-time. Since many of you prebooked for May, I will need to ask some of you to use your backup groomer during this time. I will include some recommended groomer contacts at the end of this message to help with the transition.
Over the next few days, I’ll be reaching out personally to cancel or reschedule appointments. If you have a large pet, please expect a call, as handling larger pets is still a challenge for me during my recovery. At this point, it is likely that I won’t be back to full-time work until June.
I truly appreciate your patience, support, and understanding during this time. I’m looking forward to getting back to full health and seeing all of you and your wonderful pets again soon!
Thank you so much,
Priscilla

Tomorrow makes it 4 weeks post op, and I really thought i would be feeling more normal, but that's not the case. I feel like I've had a cinder block for a knee. I feel discomfort and sometimes pain still. My emotions are all over. How am I supposed to return to work in 2 weeks?

Private Pet Grooming by Priscilla
You really want to get your furry friend cleaned up, but you just aren’t sure about the stay. You’ve done you’re homework and have found out that the average groom takes 3-4 hours. You just aren’t sure about leaving your pet that long. Lucky for you there is a solution, a Private Grooming with Priscilla.
Private grooming is exactly what it sounds like. A groom that’s done more quickly than the traditional appointment based groom. Even though it is done quickly that doesn’t mean it lacks the quality though! Plus some pet just do better without all the distractions of a conventional shop.
Private Grooming Benefits are;
