Riley is off to a pawsome start! This charismatic pup is already mastering her basics and learning to walk nicely on a leash. 👏
She also had a blast at last week’s Uniontown Lions Festival—meeting new people, training in front of an audience, snacking on plenty of treats, and soaking in all the exciting sights, sounds, and smells. 🐶🎉

🌞🐾 Wednesday’s Words of Wisdom: Dog Days of Summer 🐾🌞

Hey Lucky Dog family, yesterday’s trivia question was all about the origin of the phrase “Dog Days of Summer.” Did you know the answer? Let’s break it down:

📅 The official Dog Days of Summer run from July 3rd to August 11th, about 40 days of the hottest, most humid part of the year.

⭐ The phrase comes from ancient Greece and Rome, when the rising of the star Sirius—a.k.a. the Dog Star—was thought to bring heat, drought, and even bad luck.

🐕 Today, the phrase still feels pretty accurate—this summer has been hot, and our dogs are counting on us to keep them cool, safe, and comfortable.

So remember, whether it’s shade, fresh water, or a cool spot indoors, your “hot dog” will always appreciate your efforts! 🐶💦

🐾 Uniontown Lions Festival Wrap Up 🐾

The Lucky Dog K9 Academy Team would like to give a huge thank you to the Uniontown Lions Club for hosting another amazing event! 🎉 This was our 3rd year attending, and it just keeps getting better. We are so grateful to be included in such a fun, family-friendly community tradition.

Our pups, trainers, and especially our Jr. Trainer had an absolute blast meeting so many wonderful people, enjoying the sights and sounds of the festival, and soaking up the summer fun. 🌭🎶🎆

A big shoutout to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hi, and another heartfelt thank you to the Uniontown Lions Club for all the hard work that goes into putting this event together.

🐾 Doggie Day Camp is Back! 🐾

We’re excited to announce that Doggie Day Camp is back in action starting today, August 18th and running through September 5th! 🎉

Drop your pup off for a full day of fun, friends, and exercise with our trainers. Camp runs Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, giving your dog a safe and structured environment to play, learn, and burn off energy. 🐶💚

Welcome New Student, Olive! 🐾💚

Hey Lucky Dog family, please join us in giving a warm welcome to Olive, our newest student in the Puppy Board and Train program! 🐶 This adorable little Jack Russell Terrier may be small, but she’s got a huge personality. Like many pups her age, she’s already picked up a few bad habits — but nothing our trainers can’t help with.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be working with Olive to master the basics, build a reliable potty routine, and set a strong foundation for her future. We can’t wait to share her progress with you — stay tuned for updates on this spunky girl!
