The surprises just keep coming.

Yesterday, the neighbor brought us a FIFTH kitten, and the poor baby was so skinny after being away from his mom for a whole day. We were relieved when he immediately latched, and he’s been making steady gains.

I’m thinking they should be the, “Only Murders in the Building” litter - starting with Mama Mabel. Who else should we add to the gang? Loretta is probably my favorite character 🥰

Another kitten makes this entire ordeal all the more stressful. So we were beyond grateful to see a bunch of deliveries yesterday and today. Mama and her babies are eating 6 small cans of kitten food a day, plus kitten kibble! We truly couldn’t do this without your support, and thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Today took an unexpected turn.

The neighbor knocked on my sister’s door holding a limp, panting cat and said, “I was told to bring them to you.” My sister immediately recognized “Mama Cat” - the local stray that keeps having litter after litter on the street.

You may be (angrily) wondering why she wasn’t fixed already…. Well, her “owners” across the street made their feelings about TNR clear, and we are not allowed to trap her or the neighbor threatened violence. I guess they changed their mind today.

We rushed Mama (and her babies) inside and put her on a wet towel to recover. The poor girl nearly died from heat stroke. She got fluids- and everyone was covered in fleas, so they got baths.

This family is safe with us, but we had no idea we’d be taking this on. Five more intakes, five more spay and neuters, and five more mouths to feed. Please help us (finally) do right by Mama and end the cycle.

Too much cuteness to not share 🥰

The foster kittens are growing up quickly and I’m absolutely loving the chaos.

What I don’t love is the upcoming vet bills for their spay and neuter. I’ll be spending about $1300 to fix, chip, and vaccinate the ten kittens in our program. Kachow is already fixed 🎉 and four more going into the clinic this week.

If you can spare anything at all, every bit makes a huge difference for us.

And still I wish we could do more…

This time of kitten season is beyond stressful because we’re trying to vet and adopt out current kittens - all while still being bombarded by new babies in need.

Two tiny gorgeous babies, Raeve and Kaan, came to us last week after falling from underneath a moving car. Then, we saved Oliver after he was reportedly (maybe) hit by a car and left at the SEAACA shelter in Downey to be euthanized.

So not only are we feeding three new mouths, we now need to budget for more spay/neuter appointments.

We can only continue to help as long as we have your support. And trust me it means the world to us to have a community of animal lovers in our corner. 🥰

These two tumbled out of a speeding car…
And then one ran straight up into another car 🤦‍♀️ thanks to CalFire for their patience carefully extracting a tiny kitten. They’re 5-6 weeks old and very very small. Despite their traumatic day, they ate well and tolerated a bath and medication. And a huge thanks to our friends for their quick thinking saving these babies, otherwise these two would surely be k*lled on Grand Ave during rush hour traffic. Welcome to the rescue Kaan and Raeve!

She heard the kitten food is almost gone 😳

Quinn is one of the six kittens in our care - and all are now fully weaned and very fond of wet food. Keeping the cupboards around here stocked is like feeding a house full of teenagers. Also, we are almost out of food for our adult cats.

Brittany Mitt-any grew up so fast! 🧤🤵‍♀️ Three weeks ago, a lil kid picked her up wandering the streets, and we stepped in the save her from going to the shelter. She looks so small in the cat trap in the last picture! 😭 Since then, she’s more than doubled in size 🤯 and she’s decided she’s a big fan of belly rubs, and falls asleep on her foster mom’s chest. Brittany will be ready to go home in 2 weeks after her spay surgery - who wants to pre adopt her?? 🥰

Mariska Hargitay GLOW UP 🍊 🪄🥰

Mariska is now 6 weeks old! She gets around very well on her 3.5 legs, and loves to zoom in her kennel. Her favorite place to sleep is on her foster mom’s chest.

She’s small for her age, and once her ears popped up, we realized she has the cutest little fold in her left ear. And her left eye doesn’t open all the way. At this point, we suspect trauma from her umbilical cord caused her various special features. She’s beyond unique, to say the least!

She’ll see our vet for a check up next week and hopefully she’s big enough to get good X-rays to determine next steps.

We are out of kitten food and pellet litter. Please please please consider a donation to support the kittens as they grow big and strong. 🐾

That feeling when you’re finally adopted.

Serena waited over two years to find her family. She and her sister were brought into the Ramona Shelter with newborn babies. They patiently raised their kittens together and everyone was adopted - including her sister.

Serena made it clear she had strong opinions about other cats, and finding her perfect family took soooo long.

Now she’s living her best life in a home (without any cats!). She’s a princess and is clearly being treated as such.

We’re so happy for one of our longest resident fosters 🥳🎉 please consider a donation to support the other cats and kittens in our care.
