🌟⭐️Klaus⭐️🌟

Sweet boy looking for a new home!!!

Klaus is about 8 yrs old and is a Tripod kitty!!! Klaus will be required to go to a home with NO pets and NO children. He can be very playful and sweet once he gets to know you but he is pretty skittish at first. He is neutered and has had his shots. Klaus is also chipped.

Klaus is looking for a loving, kind and patient guardian! Don't Let the missing leg fool you! Klaus is a sweet and playful boy once he gets comfortable! Klaus will need some extra attention while he gets used to his new home so we also will be requiring his adopter to do at least 4 behavioral sessions with me (completely free of charge). Klaus has been through some trauma in his past. He was thrown into moving traffic when he was 3 months old which caused serious injuries that required the amputation of his front leg and shoulder blade. Transitioning him into a new home will be very stressful for Klaus. His adopter will need to be dedicated to following my instructions. If you listen to my advice, his transition will be easy for him. We just want to find this amazing boy a wonderful and happy home!

Klaus has a past history of getting urinary blockages whenever he experiences significant changes or stress. Because of this, we recommend he sees a vet for a checkup at least once a year, preferably twice a year.

I am confident that with my help, his transition into a new home will be as easy as possible and will not cause a stress blockage. I will also go over all the signs to look for that may indicate a blockage. Cats are EXCELLENT at hiding their illnesses but there are always signs and I am more than happy to teach them to you!

I also do not recommend using a covered litterbox with Klaus. I do not believe he would do well with a covered litterbox because of his high anxiety. He will need a litterbox that is uncovered and not tucked away in a small dark space, such as a closet. It doesn't need to be in the middle of a room lol but it will need to be somewhere well lit and open like a spare room.

The ideal home for Klaus would be a quiet home. He needs a loving and patient guardian. Someone who will understand his boundaries and respect them. I would love to see him go to a home with someone who is either retired or works from home. Absolutely no other pets and no children. There will be no exceptions to this requirement. Please also keep in mind that Klaus will not take to you right away. You can definitely meet him before deciding to adopt but please keep in mind that the Klaus you first meet is not the true Klaus.

Updated update: a foster has been found :) Thank you everyone for sharing this post!!!

Update: she was able to find another rescue that is able to foster them, however, the wait list is 1-4 weeks so we still need a foster, but the amount of time has been reduced to 1 to 4 weeks

URGENT! TEMPORARY FOSTER NEEDED!!!!

calling all angels!!! We have 3 kitties needing fostered for 3 to 6 months. Their owner is dealing with a difficult housing situation and desperately needs someone to take in her 3 sweet kitties until she moves into her new, pet friendly, home. Fostering would be at least 3 months, up to 6 months. The kitties have all the supplies needed for a while and the cost of future supplies will also be covered. Absolutely no financial obligation is needed. They just need a warm home and lots of cuddles and pets. They are all very well behaved and would do well with other cats (with proper introduction - which I am more than happy to help with). They also do very well around children and have been nothing but gentle to the owner's daughter. They have never been around dogs but the owner is confident that with a proper introduction to a friendly dog, they would do just fine. All 3 cats are spayed/neutered and have never shown any type of litterbox aversions.

Elderly 10 year old mutt, mostly weiner dog maybe some Jack Russell, needs a home ASAP. poor girl was abandoned by her owner and the neighbor was kind enough to take her in but she has to keep her in the basement because her existing dogs will not do well with a new pup sibling. She is very well behaved and desperately needs more people interaction. I am working on obtaining more information and will update the post once I have additional information on this sweet old girl! These sweet babies are looking for their forever homes. They have all lost their guardian unexpectedly. These cuties aren't part of our rescue but we still want to do our part to find them the best home possible ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Delilah: white female, 10yrs old, deaf. SUPER sweet, good with kids, cats, dogs.

Sampson: black male, 12 yrs old, chill, laid back, also good with kids, cats, and dogs.

Bentley: lab mix, male, 8-9 yrs old, about 80lbs. Super sweet, calm, great on a leash, house broken and crate trained (although he was never crated in his previous home), in his previous home he lived with kids, cats, and dogs.

My friend's sister passed away unexpectedly a few days ago leaving behind 3 children, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. So far, one dog has found a home. Bentley, Delilah, and Sampson are still on the hunt for a forever home. My friend and her family are so overwhelmed, so I am trying my best to help them place these beloved pets. We are trying to find homes so we can avoid the overcrowded shelters. We are desperate to find homes for them.

Look at how gorgeous Flora is?!

Flora has not received any applications and we have a feeling we know why. You see, Flora is not good with any other animals. She needs to be in a one-kitty household. Because of this, she was actually going to be euthanized all because she didn’t like the other cats and dogs in her previous foster home. Thankfully, Dr. Fette said she would not euthanize due to that reason and asked us if we would help find her the purrfect home.

Flora has been fully vetted and despite her not liking other animals, she is extremely sweet with people. **See video in comments**

Hello All,

We've got some exciting things happening here at Salem Sanctuary for Wayward Pets!!

Our last available kitty was adopted yesterday! THANK YOU CANDUS for working so hard to find homes for our last few cats!!! Excellent work!!!!

We will be taking a short break from accepting any intakes. We are revamping our rescue process! As always, our goal is to save as many animals as possible while maintaining our commitment to a foster based rescue which requires a lot of careful planning!

We will still be active on our Facebook and we will also make sure to share adoption posts from other rescues during our temporary closure.

Cat behavioral assistance is also on hold for the time being. If you are having issues with a cat's behavior you can send us a message but I will not be able to do home visits for a short while. I will, however, help as much as I can via text.

Thank you everyone for your support these past few years! We look forward to our reopening in a few months! We will continue to accept donations while we are under construction. Having a savings is extremely important in a rescue because you just never know when an animal will suddenly need a veterinarian which can cost thousands of dollars!
