Dogs Learn Through Association, Not Words đśđ
Your dog isnât ignoring youâthey just donât process language the way we do! Dogs learn by associating actions with outcomesâif something leads to a reward (treats, praise, play), theyâll repeat it. If an experience is negative (yelling, punishment), they may become fearful or avoidant, but they wonât necessarily understand why.
Thatâs why positive reinforcement is the key to effective training! Instead of punishing unwanted behavior, teach and reward the behavior you DO want:
âď¸ Reward four paws on the ground instead of scolding for jumping.
âď¸ Reinforce quiet behavior instead of yelling at barking.
âď¸ Teach loose leash walking instead of using harsh corrections.
Your dog isnât being stubbornâthey just need clear, consistent guidance. Make training fun, build trust, and watch how fast they learn! đđ
