Some stories come full circle in ways you never could have planned.
Ruby came to Warhorse Liberation as a malnourished four-month-old filly who had never been handled by humans. She was scared, underweight, and unsure of the world around her.
Over the past months she’s grown into a healthy yearling, learning trust, building confidence, and beginning her training.
As part of that process, one of the veterans in our Veteran Horse Training Program stepped in to continue the work I had started with her. He spent time helping with her halter training, building trust, and developing a connection with this once-untouchable little filly.
And somewhere along the way, something really special happened.
A bond formed.
Today we’re incredibly excited to share that Ruby has been adopted by him.
A rescue horse who once had nothing now has a future with someone who helped her learn to trust the world again.
For now Ruby will remain temporarily boarded with our herd, but her next chapter has already begun — and we couldn’t be happier for both of them. 🐴💛
This is exactly why Warhorse Liberation exists.
Rescuing horses.
Helping veterans heal.
And sometimes watching both find exactly where they belong.
