We’ve been quiet on here… and there’s a reason.

I had to leave for a family emergency, and during that time I had to say goodbye to my dog, Murdock. He’s been with me through everything—including life at the ranch.

Our volunteers stepped up in a way I’ll never forget and made sure the horses were cared for while I was gone.

Things feel a little slower right now. A little quieter.
But the horses are here. The mission is still here. And we’re still moving forward—just at a different pace.

Hold your animals a little closer tonight. 🐴💛

Some people love mountain views.
Some people love ocean views.

But this?
This will always be my favorite view.

The quiet moments.
The connection.
The peace horses bring into the world.

If you’ve ever stood in a pasture and felt your shoulders drop… you understand. 🐴💛

Some stories come full circle in ways you never could have planned.

Ruby came to Warhorse Liberation as a malnourished four-month-old filly who had never been handled by humans. She was scared, underweight, and unsure of the world around her.

Over the past months she’s grown into a healthy yearling, learning trust, building confidence, and beginning her training.

As part of that process, one of the veterans in our Veteran Horse Training Program stepped in to continue the work I had started with her. He spent time helping with her halter training, building trust, and developing a connection with this once-untouchable little filly.

And somewhere along the way, something really special happened.

A bond formed.

Today we’re incredibly excited to share that Ruby has been adopted by him.

A rescue horse who once had nothing now has a future with someone who helped her learn to trust the world again.

For now Ruby will remain temporarily boarded with our herd, but her next chapter has already begun — and we couldn’t be happier for both of them. 🐴💛

This is exactly why Warhorse Liberation exists.

Rescuing horses.
Helping veterans heal.
And sometimes watching both find exactly where they belong.

Most people know Warhorse Liberation as a horse rescue.

But one of the most powerful parts of what we do is our Veteran Horse Training Program.

In this program, veterans work directly with rescue horses learning the foundations of horsemanship and training. But the lessons go far beyond halters and lead ropes.

They learn:
• Communication
• Confidence
• Emotional awareness
• How to stay calm and lead instead of letting emotions take control

Horses are incredibly honest animals. They respond to energy, leadership, and clarity. When someone learns to work with a horse, they often discover a lot about themselves too.

This program has become one of the most popular and successful things we offer, because it creates healing on both sides of the lead rope.

Rescue horses gain training, confidence, and purpose.
Veterans gain connection, clarity, and growth.

And tomorrow we’re sharing a story that perfectly shows why this program matters so much. 🐴💛

Stay tuned.

Ruby came to Warhorse Liberation as a starved four-month-old rescue filly who had never been handled by humans.

Today she’s a healthy yearling learning trust, halter training, and life within the herd.

Horse rescue takes time, patience, and the belief that animals deserve a second chance.

Ruby’s transformation has already been incredible…

But something very important just happened for her.

And we can’t wait to share it with you. 🐴💛

Stay tuned for Ruby’s next chapter.

Don’t forget to start your seeds 🌱

Yes, it’s still cold.
Yes, winter feels endless.
But your future garden? It starts now.

There is something wildly powerful about planting something small…
and watching it grow.

(We do this with horses. We do this with people. Why not tomatoes too?)

If you’ve been wanting to garden but feel overwhelmed — a simple seed starter tray with built-in grow lights makes it EASY.

No guessing.
No sad leggy sprouts.
No “why did these die again?” energy.

Just plug in. Plant. Water. Grow.

If you’re ready to romanticize your spring a little early —
I linked the exact starter I use on our TikTok page 🌿

Let’s grow something.

Honey does not care about the weather.
Honey does not care about your dry clothes.
Honey only cares about ✨water✨

Fresh trough? Splash.
Volunteer nearby? Soak them.
Freezing temps? Even better.

No matter the season, this girl is living her best life like it’s July.

Honestly… we should all have Honey’s confidence.

Tag the friend who would absolutely get soaked first. 💦

While therapy sessions are temporarily on pause, life at Warhorse Liberation hasn’t slowed down.

- America injured herself again.
- Winter feed needs are higher than ever.
- And this past month, our water was shut off despite payment —so we’re hauling water just to keep daily care moving.

This is the part of rescue people don’t always see.
The quiet work. The unglamorous days. The showing up anyway.

Our horses are still fed. Still cared for. Still a priority.

And your support is what makes that possible.

👉 If you’ve ever wondered what donations support—this is it.

Warhorse Liberation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Every contribution directly supports the care of our rescue and therapy horses—helping cover essentials like hay, veterinary care, daily needs, and the ongoing costs of providing free equine-assisted services to veterans and first responders. Your support truly makes this work possible.

This cold has us daydreaming of summer weather.
Warm sun. Green pastures. Lazy afternoons. No frozen buckets or howling wind.

Winter is beautiful, but it’s also hard. On the horses. On the humans. On the budget.
Every cold day means more hay, more care, and more support needed to keep our rescue and therapy horses healthy and comfortable.

Until then, we’ll keep bundling up, feeding extra hay, and dreaming of warm breezes and bare feet in the grass.

What are you most excited for when summer comes back?
