A quick ride for both of these boys today!

Finley’s trot has developed so nicely, now we’re really putting in the work to fine tune his canter! Yankee is still figuring things out and had a very short walk trot ride just to see where his brain was. Geldings are superior🥰

It’s been quite a few long months but I’m happy to report that we are finally on the up swing of things with this very sensitive bay mare! Sadie is a 4yo and has recently learned she can say no… except when she says it she means it. It’s taken a lot of patience and understanding to get where we are. She’s constantly reminding us to listen and not demand. Horses like this are worth their weight in gold❤️

Belle and Sadie are finally getting back into the swing of things after an injury that put them out of the game for about a month. We are progressing leaps and strides just in our two lessons back. It’s gonna be a great season for this pair!

“Blue” is a 5yo, 14.2hh palomino quarter horse cross. Sporting one blue eye, 4 white stockings, and the cutest heart shaped birthmark, this sweet guy is looking for a new home to start his next chapter! Offers 3 incredibly smooth gaits and will go over 18”-2’ courses. Can give a change if ridden through and asked properly but still green. Has a solid head in between his shoulders, a little looky but not typically spooky. His spook consists of a little scoot and then fine. Great on hacks/trail rides but also happy to plod around the ring. Blue has been on the back burner for a bit of time but recently has been brought back into work with a professional. Would be best suited for a good riding confident kid, young teen, or small adult. He is NOT a beginner or small kids pony. Personally, I don’t think he wants to be a lesson horse but could potentially do it with more miles. While he still needs someone to put time and work into him, I could see him sweeping the pleasure in a year or so. Recently got reserve in baby green at his first show back. This boy just loves to please his people and would flourish in regular work! Asking mid 4’s located in Berlin, MD. Open to sale or paid lease. PM for more info!

The sweetest and most perfect of all the Blue ponies won Reserve Champion in the greens!!! I’ve been playing around with this guy for a couple weeks now very lightly and I just can’t express how proud of him I am! If you know me, you know I really am a pony squisher at heart, despite being 5’10”😳

Groundwork checklist!!

As you should know, groundwork is the biggest learning opportunity you can offer your horse! There is a large variety of things that can be accomplished. Having issues under saddle? ground work. Having issues on the ground? Ground work. Horse won’t stand tied? Ground work. Horse won’t load? Ground work! Do your ground work!!!

Here’s a few things to get your started on your groundwork journey:

-horses head at the humans shoulder when leading
-horse halts when handler halts
-horse backs up with little to no pressure on the halter or chest
-horse can disengage hind end when handler asks
-horse can disengage forehand when handler asks

These are basics to ensure your safety on the ground around your horse. Pm me if you have any questions! I’d love to elaborate😁

First show of 2024✅

Savannah and Finley made it back to AGS today! With more confidence and experience under their belt, they did the entire long stirrup division. The walk trot went lovely, they ended up with 3rd out of 9 even with a cat jumping underneath of fhem!! Canter was… interesting but Savannah stayed brave and strong and was able to use her knowledge to give him the ride he needed. The over fences was a learning experience and they got 8th in both. It was a straight forward, easy show day that these two needed. Thanks Stephanie Radtke for help getting him to the show and support! And of course to the best horse mom Jillian Mccarty-Dillon for always showing up for her kid and making sure she has and does what’s needed to succeed! Lots of homework to be done for the next show💪🏼
