Panting is one of the main ways dogs cool themselves down, but hot weather can make it harder for them to keep up.

A few summer reminders:
💧 Bring water along
🌳 Take shade breaks
🌅 Walk during cooler parts of the day
🚗 Never leave pets in parked cars

A happy pant after play is normal. Excessive panting, trouble settling down, weakness, or signs your pet isn’t cooling off may mean it’s time to cool down and call you veterinarian.
