At Union Pet Hospital, we can run many tests right here in our hospital to help us better understand what’s going on with your pet.

🔬 Blood tests help us check things like organ function and blood cell levels.

🐾 In-house testing helps our veterinary team investigate health concerns and make informed decisions about your pet’s care.

Did you guess the ULNA?

The ulna is one of the two bones that make up a dog's forearm, working alongside the radius to support the limb and help form the elbow joint.

💡 DID YOU KNOW? The pointy part of your dog's elbow is called the olecranon, and it's actually part of the ulna! It's also an important attachment point for the triceps muscle, which helps extend the elbow. 🐶🦴

Keep these simple safety tips in mind this week:

🍫 Keep candy out of reach. Chocolate and products containing xylitol can be dangerous to pets. Sugar-free candy deserves special attention!

🍬 Don't forget the wrappers. Candy wrappers can cause problems if swallowed, too.

If your pet gets into Halloween candy or another potentially harmful item, contact your veterinarian promptly for guidance.

👻🐾 FINAL EVENT: Paranormal Pawsitivity! 🐾👻

Something spooky happened at UPH last night… our clinic was OVERRUN with ghosts! 👻😱

Our teams split up for one final ghost hunt to see who could find the most hidden ghosts. But we ended up with a tie! 👀 So, we settled it with one last challenge: the Wet Glove Challenge!

Abby was the first to get her gloves on, winning the final challenge AND securing the overall Vet Tech Olympics championship for her team! 🏆🎉

Congratulations to our Vet Tech Olympics champions! And a huge shoutout to everyone who made Tech Week so much fun! 💙🐾

🐶💨 Event 7: Puppy Breath! 💨🐶

Is there anything better than sweet puppy breath? We think not! 🥰 But for this Tech Week challenge, our techs had to put their own breath to work!

The mission? Blow their little cotton ball puppy all the way home using nothing but their breath! 😂 No hands, no shortcuts, just some serious puff power and a little friendly competition.

We love seeing our team let loose and have some fun while competing for the ultimate Tech Week team prize! 🏆💙

🎨🐾 Event 6: “Draw Me Like One of Your Frenchies!” 🐾🎨

Our Tech Week teams put their artistic skills (and their patience!) to the test in a turn-based game of Pictionary. The catch? Each turn, you can only draw THREE STRAIGHT LINES before passing the marker to the next team!

After 4 rounds, the Purple Pugs earned a point by drawing a stethoscope! It takes teamwork, creativity, and a little mind-reading to turn a few lines into a recognizable masterpiece.
