Hey there! This is Kirston, founder & owner of Fuzzie Butts. Recently, we have had some confusion about our companies policies regarding additional charges that may be brought up during a pets service or stay. I wanted to take a moment to publicly approach this matter, as I am an open book and I very much wear my heart and passion for grooming/pet care on my sleeve. I want to address any questions there may be, because we care deeply about our pets & their families. Attached to this post will be copies of our consent forms that all of our clients receive upon booking their very first appointment.
When we opened our little but big hearted business here in 2022, we could never have foreseen the big adventures our company was going to go through at what would have been then, the near future. The expansions we had to make 3 years earlier than we expected and planned for were ultimately needed ASAP in order for us to serve the community we are so proud to be a part of & excited to raise our babies/settle our family roots in. With that growth, we discovered that we had to hire experienced/knowledgeable help & implement policies & procedures to still offer the same wholesome heartfelt service to the community, while also expanding into and offering other services that was frequently asked for by our clients. In order to still be able to not overbook ourselves or our staff, we limit the amount of dogs we take in daily to keep our environment as calm as possible as the nature of what we do, well.. Its loud haha! Dryers, barking, clippers, the beautiful sound of scissors opening & closing while creating magic! 🪄 Well, we did the expansion - a lot of them! - and then we had to hone in on our daily cancelations/rescheduling day of appointments & the no-showing & our 10% off 6-week rebook program, as it was effecting our stylists especially when we honored discounts outside of the grace period or would allow multi-pet households to rotate their pets to keep the discount, but the stylists had to do more work (dematting, etc) at a discounted rate- as unfortunately, it ended up greatly hindering us & our employees. We since then have rolled out our cancellation/no-show policy & we are sure send confirmation texts for appointments 2 days in advance instead of 1 day in advance to allow more time to our clients to let us know if they need to move their appointment, we will also call day before if we have not received an response just to do our best to make sure we've done all we can on our end. I feel it should be said that us having policies, charging extra for extra care needed or asked for by our team, was never to remove the family-like feeling to our clients, however being that we are a small business, we also need to ensure that we are able to continue to offer such a beautiful business by maintaining our bookings & charging for the work performed by our amazing team for the labor they offer to our clients daily for our grooming pups, daycare pups & our boarding stays. Our pricing is $10-35 lower than the going rate for what we provide & I've always stood firm that we will include the typical add-ons that were up charged anywhere I've worked in the past; specialty shampoos, conditioners, teeth brushing, nail filing & we will always use high quality products that I regularly read the safety sheets on to make sure our pets are safe. We do not require deposits for appointments unless a client has no-showed or rescheduled appointments back to back causing a continuous lapse for our stylists, whom are paid commission as is industry standard, and our business as we do only take a certain amount of clients each day to keep the environment comfortable for all. Our clients are not just a number to us, we are us because of our clients & our dedicated team! As with any business, we have to have safety policies in place and a mutual understanding that some situations may require more time/care from your pets stylist/team. If you have any questions or concerns about our consent forms, our pricing or our process, please just ask 🩷 We hold all of our clients dear to our hearts and only want to be able to keep these pets happy, healthy & safe, keep animal care affordable while ensuring our employees are able to take care of their families for the work they do and us be able to offer a home-away-from-home to your furry family members.
-Love always, your Fuzzie Butts Family.
