When trying to preserve cherished bloodlines while still hoping for a few more years with our older dogs, sometimes the hardest choices are the right ones.

Because I am fortunate to have daughters from Sochi's previous litters carrying on her legacy, I chose to keep Capone and let Sochi's last daughter go to an amazing new owner and exhibitor in the breed.

Now known as Mya, she made her AKC show debut yesterday, earning Best in Open Show and 2 points!

I'm excited to watch her future unfold. ❤️

Very excited to invite you to the first edition of YLCA Quarterly! We are absolutely thrilled to introduce this new publication dedicated entirely to the Yakutian Laika Club of America and our shared passion for this extraordinary breed.

Our goal with this newsletter is to keep our community connected, informed, and inspired. Every quarter, we will be bringing you the latest club updates, celebrating our dogs' achievements, sharing valuable insights, and highlighting the people who make this community so special.

To make this newsletter truly represent our members, we need your voice! We are always looking for community contributions for upcoming issues. Whether you have a heartwarming story, photos of your Laikas, helpful training tips, or recent show and trial brags, we would love to feature them. Please send your submissions to our inbox here. All other communication send to [email protected]

As we launch this first issue, we are also looking forward to a major milestone just around the corner — we will be officially releasing our new membership application and renewal form next week! We have been working hard on this process and can't wait to officially welcome in new club members.

Thank you for your continued dedication to the Yakutian Laika breed and for being such an integral part of the YLCA. We hope you enjoy reading our first issue just as much as we enjoyed putting it together.

Available agouti boy in Texas. There are two handsome agouti boys in this litter from Astra. We will keep one for sure but having a hard time picking so both are available at this time. This boy is in Texas. I’ll get photos of the other boy, he is actually in Ohio at this time.

Wonderful outgoing boys that have done several weekend and a couple special events of puppy yoga. Very well started on crate training.

Absolutely amazing boys. It’s hard to not keep both. I can potentially deliver to the east next month and possibly to Arizona (still planning June out).

Hey everyone, sorry I’ve been a little behind on messages. This has been a VERY long road trip with several places I needed to go, and I’ve been trying to get it all done in one shot. Since Thursday, I’ve gone from starting out in Texas up through Louisville, Kentucky, then up to Minnesota, down through Wisconsin and Illinois, across Pennsylvania, and into Virginia, and am finally heading home. At this point I’m sitting at around 3,600 miles of driving so far, with a whole bunch more to get home.

So if I’ve missed your message, I promise I’m not ignoring you. I’m going to start getting caught up tomorrow and then really get caught up on Thursday. If you’ve sent me something and still haven’t heard back by Thursday, please feel free to bug me again. I’ve just had a LOT going on, and most of all, trying to get these miles down the road.

That said, it really has been a wonderful and successful (and honestly fun) trip. We got several puppies safely to their new homes, I got to visit friends, and we even got to do Puppy Yoga at a new-to-us studio. It’s been an absolutely wonderful trip… but I am definitely ready to get myself home.

Cole on our little break at Natural Bridge.
