A while back I made a last minute trip to Benson Animal Shelter, Paws and Claws when Ms Ellie had her TEN puppies sooner than everyone expected! It was a late night but getting her to a quiet place to care for her pups was urgent. As kind as the staff is in Benson the shelter is a rough way to start a fragile life.

Ellie +10 went to an emergency foster with Cedar Oaks Equine Rescue to get them out of the noisy shelter and a few weeks later, when the pups were a little bigger she and her little ones were transferred to Rachel's Rescue

It's not common for moms to find homes before their wiggly little pups but that's just how special Ellie is! 🤩

This little piggy is NOT going to market! She is coming with us to her new foster family in Benson this Sunday!!

Kitten season has hit Santa Cruz County Animal Care & Control like a tidal wave! Just got home (yes, it's 11:30) from delivering 2 mommas +4/+5 babies, 10 orphaned bottle babies and one very sick little orange tabby found in a bucket to Little Lotus Rescue and Sanctuary AND 2 orange tabby, weaners and 3 ALMOST weaners to their Southern Arizona Cat Rescue foster mom!

Abby was a long stay doggo at Santa Cruz County Animal Care & Control when her adopter saw her on a post and fell in love!

But she didn't just make an emotional decision based on a FB post. She drove from Tucson to Nogales with her own dog to have a proper met and greet.

Even then she went home and had a think. She wanted to make sure she was doing the right thing for Abby, for her AND for the dog that already lived in the home.

With the support of Hope of Deliverance, Inc. she make the decision and I brought Abby home. ♥️

Today it was my absolute privilege to deliver Ms Abby to her forever home!

Her new mom drove all the way to Nogales with her own pup to do a meet and greet with Abby. She took the time to think it over (SO important!) and made the decision to add Ms Abby to her family!

OUR 500TH SAVE! 🎉

Village, we did it!

We hit out 500 dog save milestone! 🎉

Abby story took a village, just like they all do.
Her new mom saw a Facebook post of her and we got to work to connect the dots. Your shares MATTER and WORK.

Taylor and Lynn headed down to Santa Cruz County Animal Care & Control last week to do a doggy introduction and today, Chula's Uber did the honor of bringing her home. 💜

Each dog takes a village. Together, we can.

ITS THURSDAY! That means I spent my morning with 17 smelly little kitties from the Humane Society of Yuma who are headed to Starfish Cat and Kitten Rescue in Sierra Vista! One feral momma who will find safety after her 2 surviving kittens are weaned, one teenager named Coco and a WHOLE BUNCH of babies!!!

Someone had an accident and now my car smells.....less than good.

SURPRISE!!! Meet Milagro!
Just as the team at Santa Cruz County Animal Care & Control was delivering ANOTHER litter of kittens to their new foster family in Sierra Vista a woman at a store in downtown Nogales picked up a discarded paper bag to throw away. The bag MOVED! Inside was this little child, umbilical cord still attached!

Luckily Sweet Caroline didn't seem to mind another little bonus child!

The odds that someone picked up that bag while this tiny baby was still alive are astronomical! The odds that there was still a momma cat at the shelter with an adopted litter??? A little everyday miracle!

Now he's all snuggled in with Sweet Caroline and his adopted siblings at Happy Tails TNR and Animal Rescue!

There once was an old lady who lived in a shoe, she had so many children she didn't know what to do.... Sweet Caroline came into Santa Cruz County Animal Care & Control with her 5, yes you are old enough to eat on your own, kittens. Within hours a litter of newborn kittens WITHOUT a mother came in.

The old enough to be weaned babies were moved to the kennel nextdoor and the littles were tried with mom. She IMMEDIATELY started grooming and feeding them!

We schedule transport to Happy Tails TNR and Animal Rescue for the next day. Thank goodness I didn't just go grab them because we had a surprise addition.....
