Rescue is ugly.

To the owners surrendering your horses

Don’t get mad when the truth gets put in your face.

You let your horse get to this point.
You ignored the signs, the care, the responsibility. The second someone steps in and actually says it like it is, suddenly they’re the problem?

No.
You don’t get to neglect your animal, dump them on someone else, and then play the victim when the reality is uncomfortable. If you’re so desperate to “help” now, maybe you should’ve helped your horse before they were skin and bones, rotting hooves, and no future.

This isn’t about your pride.
This is about the horse you failed.

Don’t project your guilt onto me. I’m not your scapegoat. I’m the one cleaning up the mess you made.

I will never sugar coat a horses situation to protect the owner that let them get this way.

Do better

We are still searching for sponsors for Luna, Nova, and our Legacy horses, Sky and Pete.

These horses rely on this rescue to survive, but this rescue relies on YOU.

Sponsorship helps cover the essentials:
đŸŒŸ Feed & Pellets: $600 monthly
💊 Supplements: $50-$75 monthly
đŸ©ș Vet care: as needed
🐮 Farrier care: $580 bi monthly

These aren’t extras, they’re basic needs. And truthfully, I’m at the point where I can’t continue to carry it all by myself anymore.

If you’ve been watching their stories, if you’ve felt moved by their journey, if you’ve ever asked how to help, this is how.

👉 Sponsor a horse. Help us keep going.
Please message me if you’re able to help, even in part. We are so grateful for every ounce of support.

🌙 Luna – 4 Month Progress Update 🌙

It’s hard to believe it’s already been four months with Luna. This beautiful, sensitive soul is now officially part of her own little herd family with Sky and Pete. Watching her find comfort and connection within them has been one of the most rewarding parts of her journey so far.

She still doesn’t let me touch her—and that’s okay. This process isn’t about timelines, it’s about trust. We’re continuing to move at her pace, building confidence one quiet moment at a time. Her progress might be slow to some, but every step forward is a big victory in her world.

Moose Update:
Unfortunately, due to a lack of donations and unforeseen medical issues with two of my current horses, we were unable meet the $1,000 goal needed to bring Moose into our program.

I had been working with two other rescues to try to find placement for him, and kept both the owner and another individual helping with his case updated. However, they have now completely cut off communication and blocked me.

This is the exhausting reality of rescue work.

People constantly reach out saying, “Can you please help this horse?” But when it comes time to actually help—whether by donating, transporting, fostering, or even staying involved, they disappear. They expect someone else to clean up a situation they created or ignored. No accountability. No follow-through. Just a burden quietly passed along.

I get it, rescue isn’t for everyone. But if you’re going to ask someone to take on the emotional, physical, and financial weight of helping, you should at least be willing to contribute something.

I’m now working with the original rescue who adopted Moose out five years ago. We’re doing what we can to still get him pulled and placed safely, where he can finally receive the care he deserves.

Please, if this touches you, consider donating, sharing, or simply staying involved.

Old age is NOT an excuse for a skinny, suffering horse. Yes, senior horses can be harder to keep weight on. Their teeth wear down, digestion changes, they might need special diets, more calories, or extra care. That should all be consideredwhen buying a horse of any age and is all part of responsible ownership. But when a horse’s ribs, spine, and hips are sticking out, when they’re weak, unsteady, and clearly struggling, blaming “old age” isn’t good enough. That’s neglect, plain and simple.

If a horse is still bright, mobile, and enjoying life but needs extra TLC to maintain weight, then as owners, it’s our job to provide that. But if a horse is too far gone, too weak, too decrepit to recover or live comfortably, then it’s also our responsibility to do the right thing.

Keeping a horse alive just to avoid making the hard decision is not kindness. It’s cruelty.

Our horses gave us their best years. They carried us, taught us, trusted us. The least we can do is make sure they either have proper care or a peaceful, dignified end. No animal deserves to waste away.

Old doesn’t mean starving. Know the difference.

We’re still short of our goal, and now more animals need care.

We’ve only raised $380 of our $1,000 intake goal for Moose, and he still needs urgent help. But now, we’re also facing unexpected medical and farrier costs for Luna, who’s showing some concerning issues that may require dart sedation and immediate treatment.

On top of that, our monthly feeding expenses continue for Nova, Luna, and Vino (until he is officially rehomed).

Every single dollar helps us keep going. Whether it’s $5, $15, or more — it truly makes a difference.

Please consider donating if you’re able.

These horses rely on us — and we rely on you.

I went to see Moose yesterday
and the story is a little different than I expected. 💔

Moose hasn’t had vet or dental care in over three years. His feet are overgrown and clearly painful, and his coat is very mangy and abnormal— which could be due to Cushing’s, fungus, poor nutrition, parasites
or maybe all of the above.

He also has an old injury to his left hind that’s going to require dedicated rehabilitation. It breaks my heart to see him like this.

I’ve done some digging and was able to track down his previous owners and trainers — and every single one of them had the same thing to say: Moose was a champion. He was strong, accomplished, and full of heart. He doesn’t deserve to end up like this.

I need every donation possible to get this boy the urgent care he needs — from vet visits, farrier, and dental work to nutrition, bodywork, and injury rehab. Please help me give Moose the chance to heal, to be safe, and to be loved again.

🙏 Every share and every dollar truly makes a difference.

🚹 URGENT: Moose Needs Your Help 🚹

We are $700 short of our $1,000 intake goal for Moose—and time is running out. If we don’t reach our full goal by next week, we will not be able to bring Moose into our care. 💔

So far, we’ve raised $300 thanks to the generosity of our supporters—but we still need your help to make this rescue possible.

Moose deserves a chance at safety, healing, and love. Your donation—no matter how small—could be the difference between life in a safe place or being left behind.

💾 Every dollar counts.
⏳ Time is critical.
🙏 Please share, donate, and help us bring Moose home.

Moose is a senior Saddlebred who’s been overlooked and underserved — but we’re ready to change that. We’ve raised $300 of the $1,000 needed for his intake and care, and with your help, we can reach the full goal.

Here’s what your donation covers:
đŸ©ș Comprehensive vet exam & bloodwork
đŸŠ· Much-needed dental care
đŸ§˜â€â™‚ïž Bodywork
đŸ„• 30 days of hay, feed, and supplements
🚚 Transport prep, deworming, and vaccinations

This isn’t just intake — it’s the first step of his healing. At our rescue, every horse receives a 30–90 day decompression period, bodywork as needed, and a full evaluation before they’re ever considered for adoption. We don’t rush — we rehab with intention.

✹ If our goal is met, Moose will arrive July 20th and begin the next chapter of his life.

Please donate if you can, or simply share this post. Every gesture makes a difference — and Moose deserves a second chance.

Donations can be made through the following and are eligible for tax write offs!
