Spent some time with a few of my Lab friends once a week over the past few weeks. 🐾

They are super majestic... until they find a stick. Then all dignity goes right out the window. 😂

Every visit seemed to include an important stick inspection, stick parade, or stick retrieval mission. Some dogs collect toys, these Labs seem to collect sticks and act like they've discovered buried treasure every single time.

They may be majestic, but they're also goofy, lovable, and always keep me entertained. I look forward to seeing these stick-loving pups! ❤️🐶🌳

Last week I had the pleasure of taking care of one of my favorite three-cat trios! 🐱🐱🐱

Pet sitting is always interesting because no two visits are ever exactly the same. Between feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, playtime, and making sure everyone is happy and comfortable, there is never a dull moment.

Spending time with these three always makes my day. Thank you to their family for trusting me to care for them while they were away!

🐐🐴 Flashback to My Rescue Days 🐶🐱

A lot of people know me from pet sitting, but before that, I spent years working with and helping all kinds of animals. I've had the opportunity to care for goats, horses, dogs, cats, and many other animals along the way.

Every species comes with its own personality and challenges. Goats are professional troublemakers, horses can be gentle giants, dogs are always ready for an adventure, and cats tend to believe they're in charge of everything. 😆

Working with such a wide variety of animals has taught me that no two animals are ever exactly alike. Whether they have hooves, paws, feathers, or scales, they all deserve patience, understanding, and quality care.

Looking back, I'm grateful for every animal that has crossed my path. Each one has taught me something new and helped shape the animal care provider I am today. ❤️

🌻🐾 AUGUST IS ALMOST HERE... AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! 🐾🌻

Somehow we're already talking about August, and honestly, I’m pretty sure summer is using the zoomies to get through the calendar. One minute it's June, the next thing you know everyone is messaging me saying, "Hey, I forgot to book pet care for my vacation next month!" 😅

Meanwhile, your pets have their own plans for August:

🐶 Dogs: "I would like breakfast at 6:00 AM, second breakfast at 6:15 AM, and a detailed neighborhood security patrol."

🐱 Cats: "I will be unavailable for comment. Please leave snacks and respect my privacy."

🐰 Rabbits: "I chewed it because it looked expensive."

🐔 Chickens: "We have important flock business to discuss."

🐍 Reptiles: "I will sit completely still and somehow still be the most mysterious creature in the house."

While you're enjoying your vacation, working long hours, heading out for a weekend getaway, or just needing an extra helping hand, I’ll be making sure your pets stay happy, comfortable, and spoiled with plenty of attention.

That means: 🐾 Walks and exercise 🐾 Feeding and fresh water 🐾 Playtime 🐾 Potty breaks 🐾 Medication administration if needed 🐾 Lots of pictures and updates 🐾 Unlimited conversations with your pets about
why they definitely don't need a fourth dinner

And yes, I fully expect to be supervised while doing my job. Dogs will follow me from room to room, cats will judge my every move, and at least one pet will stare at me like I've personally offended them by not opening the treat container immediately. It's all part of the experience. 😂

August is one of the busiest times of the year for pet care, so if you know you'll be needing drop-ins, walks, vacation care, or other pet services, it's never too early to get your dates reserved.

As a dog sitter, knowing the signs and symptoms of bloat is important — but knowing what to avoid can be just as important too. 🐶💨

After meals, I always try to keep things calm and avoid rough play, zoomies, or too much water too quickly. Little precautions can make a big difference, especially for breeds more prone to bloat. ❤️

I swear animals wake up every morning and choose chaos. 😂🐾

One minute everything is peaceful…
The next minute:
• someone’s running laps through the house for no reason
• somebody else is judging me from across the room
• and somehow a toy has exploded into 47 pieces across the floor

Meanwhile I’m over here saying things I never thought would come out of my mouth like: “Please stop licking the wall.” “Why are you wet?” “WHAT do you have in your mouth?!”

Working with animals is basically a full-time improv show and honestly… I love every second of it. 🖤

Throwback to one of my favorite mismatched duos 😂

One springer puppy operating at FULL SPEED 24/7: “PLAY PLAY PLAY PLAY.”
The older springer: “I’m literally just trying to nap.” 😴

And then there was the tiny floofy dog sitting there watching the chaos unfold like a disappointed manager supervising two very different employees. 🐶✨

The puppy was bouncing off the walls, the older pup was trying to find peace and quiet, and the little floof was somehow the most emotionally stable one there. I still laugh thinking about this crew. ❤️

Others stare at me like I owe them money. 😂

Either way, I love getting to know every personality that comes through this business. The goofy ones, the shy ones, the dramatic ones, the “I heard a leaf move outside and now we must panic” ones.

That’s the best part of pet sitting — they’re all completely different, and none of them are pretending to be human. They’re just unapologetically themselves, and honestly? We could learn from that.

What is one completely normal thing you do now because of your pets… that non-pet people would think is insane? 😂

Examples: • Having full conversations with them • Letting them have “their spot” on the bed • Checking the weather like your dog personally works outside • Saying ‘we’ instead of ‘me’

I know I’m not the only one 🤣⬇️
