🌞 Heat Advisory for Our Furry Friends 🐶🐱

With temperatures soaring into the High-90s this week in Lincoln County, here’s how you can help keep your pets safe:
1. Limit outdoor time
Keep walks & playtime to early morning or evening when it’s cooler.
2. Never leave pets in vehicles
Even a quick stop can turn deadly—cars act like ovens in the sun.
3. Watch for heat stroke
Symptoms include excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or staggering. If you notice any, get your pet to shade and cool them gently with water—then call us immediately.
4. Hydration is key
Fresh, cool water should be available at all times—both indoors and out.
5. Protect sensitive paws & coats
Hot pavement can burn paws; short-haired or light-colored pets may get sunburned—use booties or pet-safe sunscreen as needed.
6. Cooling essentials
Provide shade, cooling mats, frozen toys, or shallow kiddie pools for relief.
7. Check outdoor pets frequently
Make sure they have shade, fresh water, and aren’t showing signs of overheating.
8. Tip for indoor pets
Keep blinds down and fans or AC on. Monitor elderly, overweight, or flat-faced breeds closely—they’re especially prone to heat-related issues.

🐾 Reminder: If you’re ever in doubt or your pet seems unwell, don’t hesitate to bring them by or call (636) 528‑5099. We’re here to help!

🎉 This October marks 36 YEARS since Kim Davis walked through our doors on Day 1—October 2, 1989! 🐾💼
And what better time to celebrate her as our Employee of the Month! 🌟

Kim has been the heart of our front desk, greeting generations of pet parents with a smile and a soft spot for the fluffiest pups. 🐶💖

When she’s not here making tails wag, she’s enjoying good music and yard work. 🌿🎶

Thank you, Kim, for 36 years of loyalty, love, and laughter! 💕
