Belly Up Dog Training

Belly Up Dog Training We're passionate about the joy a dog can bring to our lives.

If you're a pet owner or a service dog handler, we're here to help you with our dog training services so you and your dog can enjoy a happy, healthy life together. Having become a professional dog trainer in 2016, I have discovered a deep passion for helping others experience the joys of life with their beloved canine companions. In addition to my professional work, I also volunteer my time to tra

in service dogs for a non-profit, which has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. Witnessing the transformation that occurs when someone receives a service dog is truly awe-inspiring, and it has only my desire to help others train not only their pet dogs, but also their own service dogs. My ultimate goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of both dogs and their owners, and I am committed to achieving this through my work as a dog trainer.

🐾 Annie Update! 🐾

Annie has been working hard on listening outside, and she is doing amazing! 👏

For puppies, the outside world can be incredibly exciting. New smells, people, sounds, and distractions can make it really hard to focus.

But Annie has been crushing it.

She’s walking right beside her owner without any problem and doing an awesome job coming when called, even with everything going on around her.

And that kind of progress makes a huge difference in everyday life.

Walks become more relaxing.
Outings feel less stressful.
And her owners can feel more confident taking her places.

Annie is still growing and learning, but she’s already making such great progress and we’re so proud of her. 🐶✨

🐾 Stay tuned to keep following Annie’s journey!

🐾 Rex Update! 🐾

Rex has been hard at work lately and making some awesome progress on his service dog journey! 👏

We’ve been focusing on walking nicely, staying calm around distractions, and he has even started learning how to alert his owner.

For such a young puppy, that’s a big deal.

The world is full of exciting things for puppies — sounds, people, movement, smells — and learning how to stay calm and focused through all of that takes time and practice.

But Rex is doing a great job.

Every calm moment, every successful walk, and every little bit of progress helps build toward a dog that can confidently handle the world around him.

And getting started on alerts this early is so exciting to see!

Rex still has a lot of growing and learning ahead of him, but he’s off to an amazing start and we can’t wait to watch his progress continue. 🐶✨

🐾 Stay tuned to keep following Rex’s journey!

🐾 PJ tackled a big new challenge! 🐾

New environments can be a LOT for young dogs, especially places full of strange sounds, movement, and distractions.

At first, PJ definitely had a “what in the world is this place?” moment. 😂

But after settling in, he started focusing, working through it, and absolutely rocked it by the end.

And honestly? That’s what real progress looks like.

Not being perfect right away… but learning how to move past uncertainty and handle new experiences with confidence.

Those little wins add up to a dog that can go more places, handle more situations, and feel calmer in the world around them.

Way to go, PJ! 👏🐶

🐾 Luna Update! 🐾

Luna absolutely rocked her loose leash walking outside today! 👏

For a young dog, the outside world can be a lot. New smells, sounds, people, and distractions everywhere and normally that excitement makes it hard for dogs to slow down and focus.

But today, Luna did an awesome job walking nicely beside us instead of pulling ahead or zig-zagging all over the place (She was so good. We even did a little bit of off-leash walking 🤗).

And that kind of progress makes a huge difference in everyday life.

Walks become relaxing instead of frustrating.
You stop feeling like you’re being dragged around.
And you can actually enjoy spending time outside with your dog.

Luna still has more growing and learning ahead of her, but she’s making such great progress and we’re so proud of her. 🐶✨

🐾 Stay tuned to keep following Luna’s journey!

🐾 Puppy life isn’t always as easy as people make it look

One minute they’re adorable and cuddly…

The next they’re:
• Biting your hands and clothes
• Pulling on the leash like a tiny freight train
• Jumping all over guests
• Zooming through the house like they drank three cups of coffee

And suddenly life with your puppy feels more chaotic than fun.
You love them, but you also want to enjoy them.

Now imagine this instead:

🐕 Walks that feel calm instead of frustrating.
🐕 A puppy that listens even when excited.
🐕 Guests coming over without the jumping and chaos.

Instead of feeling stressed or embarrassed, you feel proud of your dog and excited about the future with them.

That kind of change starts early.
The sooner puppies learn good habits, the easier life becomes as they grow up.

🐾 If your puppy is turning everyday life upside down, send us a message. We’d love to help!

Does bath time turn into a full wrestling match? 🛁🐾

Running away when you grab the towel.
Slipping, scrambling, trying to escape the tub.
Water everywhere… and a stressed-out dog (and owner).

You’re not alone. Grooming struggles are way more common than people think.

The good news?
It doesn’t have to stay that way.

With the right approach, your dog can learn to feel calmer and more comfortable during things like baths, brushing, and nail trims.

No more chasing them around.
No more turning grooming into a battle.
Just a dog who can handle it, and a process that feels a whole lot easier.

We just posted a new blog all about this: Stop the Bathtub Blues: How to Make Grooming Stress-Free for Your Dog

Are you tired of life feeling chaotic because of your dog?

Pulling on walks so hard your exhausted just thinking about it.
Jumping on guests to the point where you are apologizing before it even happens.
Getting so excited they stop listening to the point if they get out, they might not come back.

You love your dog… but sometimes it can be a lot.

Now imagine this instead:
🐕 Calm walks where they walk with you instead of for you
🐕 Relaxing on their bed for an easy morning
🐕 Guests coming over and are greeted without all the uncontrolled excitement

A dog that still has personality, just easier to live with.
That kind of change is possible.

If you’re ready for calmer, easier days with your dog, send us a message. We’d love to help!

Did you know that keeping your dog lean can add up to 2.5 extra years to their life? 🐾

Those puppy dog eyes can be hard to resist, and it’s easy to slip an extra treat here and there. But over time, those little extras add up, and what looks “cute and chonky” can actually put a lot of strain on your dog’s body.

Extra weight doesn’t just affect how your dog looks. It can impact their energy levels, make walks harder, and increase stress on their joints. Dogs carrying extra weight are also more likely to struggle with things like mobility issues and other health concerns as they get older.

The tough part? It usually happens slowly. A pound here, a few extra treats there, and before you know it, your dog isn’t feeling their best anymore.

The good news is, small changes can make a big difference. Adjusting portions, being mindful of treats, and adding in more activity can help your dog feel lighter, more comfortable, and more like themselves again.

🐾 Meet PJ! 🐾

PJ is a mixed breed puppy who’s working toward becoming a service dog, and he’s off to a great start!

Right now, he’s learning the basics that will set him up for success as he grows. Things like sitting calmly, going to his place, and responding when asked.

And he’s doing awesome so far. 👏

At this stage, it’s not about being perfect. It’s about building a strong foundation so he can handle more as he gets older.

Every bit of focus, every calm moment, every small win… it all adds up.

We’re excited to keep working with PJ and watch him grow on this journey.

🐶 Stay tuned to see how he continues to progress!

Your dog is sweet… but sometimes they’re just a lot.

Jumping all over people.
Pulling on walks.
Getting so excited it feels like their ears turn off.

You find yourself apologizing.
Holding them back.
Hoping they calm down.

It’s not that they’re bad.

They just don’t know how to handle all that excitement yet.

Now imagine:

Your dog greets people calmly.
Walks beside you instead of dragging you.
Listens even when they’re excited.

Same happy dog… just easier to live with.

Less stress.
Less embarrassment.
More enjoying your dog.

If this sounds like your dog, send us a message, we’d love to help.
