Update on Nina, the Ecorse dog hit by car.

We have a nice lady who we believe is qualified graciously offering to foster Nina. Because we do not have the resources to “manage” endless fosters (we have a few we are working with now) our good friends at Save Monroe Strays had offered to take Nina under their wing, while we raise the funds for the surgery on our account.

Some of you are asking why we choose amputation over FHO surgery in this case. The leg has many wounds that are very concerning, as well as cost. In this case amputation is most reasonable for a better recovery. Dogs generally do just fine on 3 legs.

We are waiting to finalize foster set up and we will be seeking donations on our bill at Heritage for the surgery.

For those shouting “GIVE HER PAIN MEDS !!!!” Nina was given pain control at the vet (of course) and kept as comfortable as possible overnight.
