A family owned and operated business. Diana and Gary started Diana’s Personal Touch in 1990 with a mission to provide exceptional pet services to the Traverse City community. After owning and operation the business for 30+ years, they decided to retire and pass the reigns to a couple that truly has a passion for pets.

re the perfect match to take over running the business that Diana spent her life building. After a wealth of hard work and determination, Jon and Katie have successfully executed the transition. The new proud owners have rebranded as “Beau’s Chateau For Pets” and added a great deal of value to the Traverse City pet community. They are looking forward to following in Diana’s footsteps and spending their new life surrounded by pets.

Dear Family,

Yesterday presented a significant emotional challenge for all of us at the "Handsome Home for Pets" as we bid farewell to two cherished companions and family members who exemplified the very essence of our mission.

We first had to make the difficult decision to allow our dear geriatric adoptee, JM, to pass away peacefully holding his paw as he took his last breath. At 19 his health had been gradually declining, marked by consistent weight loss and a decrease in his overall vitality.

Later in the day, we faced the profound sorrow of saying goodbye to Sven, my beloved companion of 9 years. It appeared that he felt compelled to join his brother. Despite our diligent efforts over 4 days and the dedicated care provided by the team at Bay Area, Sven's kidney function continued to deteriorate, and we could not bear to prolong any suffering. I cannot help but consider his potential fear and confusion in the absence of his family. When he heard our voices and saw our faces during his last moments we could see him settle. I held him in my arms and thanked him for being there for me in my darkest of times...

This experience serves as a poignant reminder of the natural cycle of life, even amidst the deep pain of loss. We have been exceptionally privileged to experience the unconditional affection of these animals, particularly those who are more reserved in their expressions of love. My heart is heavy, as it is with every pet we lose from the families who entrust them to our care. I derive some solace from the knowledge that JM and Sven are no longer in pain and that they embarked on their final journey together.
