Im feeling SO incredibly grateful for the network of supportive people around our little program. ❤️

I posted about Tabitha, and within an hour I had three wonderful applications.

I truly believe that planning ahead, joining a waitlist, or placing a deposit on a litter is usually the best way to thoughtfully choose the right puppy for your family.

But I also believe that sometimes the stars align, and people find the puppy that was meant to be theirs.

That’s exactly how I found Lucy, the dog who started this program. She was the last puppy left in her litter. Her breeder had decided to keep her, but changed her mind. I happened to come across her, picked her up the next day, and the rest is history.

So there will always be a special place in my heart for last minute placements and for the idea that, sometimes, the universe speaks through dogs. ✨

I’m happy to report that Tabitha has found her human and will be heading home on Sunday. Thank you to everyone who shared and for the kind words 💜🐾

Tabitha is still seeking her humans.
We’ve been enjoying getting to know her on her own the last couple days since the other puppies went home.

She’s sleeping through the night in her crate in our room, being incredibly respectful of great grandma Lucy’s space (as a senior she’s not a fan of puppies leaping in her face anymore), and has had zero potty accidents so far. I’ll start taking her on some field trips this week so she continues to learn more about the world while she waits for her people.

She likes to narrate during playtime by barking but has shown no demand barking at all. She has moderate food drive and high tug/toy drive.

Her coat is going to be about as low maintenance as it gets for a doodle type coat, but she will need regular haircuts.

She’s really good about entertaining herself with toys but also enjoys snuggling on laps.

She’s on the small side for the litter I’m thinking she’ll be less than 40 pounds as an adult.

Lovely video update from Zoey’s new humans. She slept well in her crate, as did Tabitha who as the lone remaining puppy is being integrated into the household while she awaits her humans. Tabitha slept 10-6:30 without a peep. Yay!

Well, that escalated quickly. 5-4-3-2-1!? puppy left. Tabitha is last but not least. Getting lots of good reports of puppies sleeping all night and pottying outside. I’m proud but slightly misty. Benny is near his Aunt Evie, Roses sister and with amazing humans; Jemima (now Zoey) is just the cuddle bug her people needed, and Pickles (now Bear) found an awesome guardian home. So grateful for amazing families and healthy puppies. 💜🐾

Puppies found a paper bag in the kitchen and I let them rip it up for fun. Sometimes the best enrichment is the cheapest. They keep looking up cuz the other dogs are crashing around in the next room. Also- Tabitha apparently understands everything I say. Watch at :50 to see her genius level intelligence. 😜
