Thank you for being my why Willow✨
If you’ve been with me for a while, you know that Willow was my very first client when I started this business back in July 2025. She’s the reason that I decided to take that chance and bet on myself. Because why not, right? After leaving a job that no longer aligned with who I was becoming, I dove straight back into where my heart has always been: animals. Like many people chasing something bigger, there were hard lessons, growing pains, unforgettable connections, and moments of heartbreak while trying to find a place that truly felt right. Somewhere along the way I realized that maybe what I was looking for didn’t exist yet.. maybe what I had been looking for all along was myself. (I know, corny but it’s true!)

It had been a few months since leaving the job I thought would be my forever career and Willow’s mom’s post came up in a local community group on Facebook saying she needed to find a dog sitter for her upcoming trip. I had never felt so called to respond to something before and didn’t hesitate to respond to the post! A few days later I had my very first ever meet &greet and landed the job! The sweetest full circle moment was when Willow remembered me from spending time together while I was working at a local dog daycare- I like to think that dogs never forget their favorite people💛

And just like that, The Velvet Leash Northshore was born ✨

Since opening in July of 2025 I’ve completed over 500 walks and over 150+ overnights. As a one-woman business built entirely from love, trust, and a whole lot of heart, I’m feeling incredibly proud. All of the long days, muddy paws, early mornings and every small moment in between make it all worth it. There is no better reward than the love of a dog. If you made it this far, thank you for being here and supporting my small business, it truly means the world to me🫶🏼🐾

Maya and I are spending the weekend together so we decided to start our Saturday morning off with an adventure!
🐾🌞🌊☕️

First stop was Starbucks to fuel the walk- quad espresso for me and a pup cup for the diva herself. Next up was a little car ride to the walk spot- Nahant Beach! This spot is a favorite of mine and it’s a perfect stretch to get some steps in. Dogs aren’t allowed on the beach there April 1-September 15 but there’s a pathway with beach views year round. We walked almost 2 miles before ending our walk with Maya’s pup cup to reward her for being such a good girl on our walk!

One thing I’ll never rush on a walk? The sniffing. 🐾 Because enrichment isn’t about distance — it’s about experience. When your pup is allowed to slow down, explore, and sniff, they leave their walk more relaxed, more fulfilled, and yes… more tired.

That’s the kind of care I believe in 🫶🏼✨
