Sharing this urgent call from All4Paws Okanogan, another dedicated nonprofit working right here in Okanogan County. They’re on a mission to find homes for the last remaining dogs from N.O. Paws Left Behind Rescue & Okanogan County Everything Dogs who’ve waited years for a family of their own — dogs like Rascal, a gentle 11‑year‑old Red Heeler who’s been in rescue since 2019.

We are urgently rescuing the last remaining dogs who have waited years for a family of their own. Their bags are packed, their hearts are hopeful — now they need YOU. 💔➡️❤️

Rascal is a senior Red Heeler who deserves peace, patience, and understanding in this stage of his life. He is looking for a calm, confident, experienced owner who understands the heeler breed and values structure, routine, and clear communication.
Heelers are deeply loyal and protective, and Rascal is no exception. In a quiet, predictable home with a single adult, Rascal thrives. Once trust is earned, he is affectionate, playful, food-motivated, and deeply devoted to his person.
Because of his age and instincts, Rascal does best as an only pet or with an experienced foster who understands space management and herding-breed behaviors. He can interact with other dogs, but prefers calm environments and clear boundaries—especially when his person is nearby.
🩺 Senior Care Needs:
• Daily pancreatic enzyme (Pan-tenex) mixed easily into food
• Cataracts that will eventually need surgery
• Reduced vision means he startles at shadows — calm handling and routine help him feel safe
🎾 What Rascal Loves:
• Consistent routines
• Gentle play and enrichment
• Water fun in warm weather (a kiddie pool would be a dream!)
• A steady human he can rely on
Rascal isn’t a dog for everyone — but for the right person, he is everything. He is a loyal, intelligent senior who deserves dignity, stability, and a soft place to land.

Meet Brook, our 10-week-old Doxie mix who is currently failing on the job training because she’s too busy being a pudgy little potato. While Brook is living her best life, her arrival (along with 3 other small-breed litters) means our rescue is bustling.

UPDATE: 1/7/26: Dog is back with owner. Thank you to all who shared this post.

This intact male senior dog was found this morning around 6:30 AM on Barn Dance Rd Pateros. He has no microchip and appears to have some older injuries, including a noticeable dent on his head. He appeared very cold, finder has him in the vehicle to start warming up.

He is people‑friendly, finder is unable to keep him.

Adopted from Hans was our mascot, King of Buckhorn Mountain. Hans designed his own life’s work: patrolling our property, chasing off coyotes, and most importantly, teaching every foster dog we brought home how to be a "good dog."

We’re officially at 'Maximum Chunk' status! 🐾 These little ones arrived undernourished and fragile, but look at them now. While these pups have plenty of applications, our rescue is still full. We need more fosters in Okanogan County WA to help us turn more "befores" into "afters." Can you open your home?
