Dual Oaks

Today our sweet girl Katy Lou went to the rainbow bridge. She would have been 15 this September. While she didn’t win many show ribbons or any field ribbons she won our hearts from the first day she became a part of our family. I can’t thank Louise Brown enough for trusting her with us. A huge thanks to Donna Harrison and Herbert Harrison for taking care of her these past few months as we work to get settled in our new house.

Our hearts are heavy tonight, but we know she’s in a better place with her Brittany family running and playing like the puppy she always was.

Midwest trial: 4th place in the Open allage with Chico. 2nd in the puppy with Moon and 3rd with Belle. Bolt was second in the Open Gundog, Teltex Jayhawk was 3rd and Shiloh's Premiere Lady Dual Oaks was 4th. Fourth in the Open Derby with Wichita Wild Woman. Jon St Claire took 2nd in the Am Gundog with Rocco..

Zoie 4th in an hour stakes

Home from Iowa.. Two trials and a Limited Gundog.
Iowa BC trial; Second in the Open allage with Rowdy Bo Dandy. First in the Derby with KD and first in the puppy with Bell and 4th with Moon. 4th with Bree in open Gundog. 4th in Limited Gundog with Shiloh's Lady dual Oaks..

Hawkeye; Roco took first in this 37 dog stake, scoring a really nice pheasant find along with two covey finds. Waysides Am I Blue took 3rd. Third in the puppy with Moon. Second in the Derby with Turning Points Shenanigans.. 4th in the open Allage with Ezekiel of hunter's pride. AKA Zeke.

Always pretty cool to see your dogs name in the ABC Magazine, but even cooler to read a write up of a brace for a championship/classic on your dog. Felt proud reading about Zoie's brace in the Ed Powell Memorial Grand Open Limited Gun Dog Classic/Iowa Brittany Shooting Dog Championship. She finished runner up with Scott Johnson handling her. He's done a great job with her and hopefully we can get those two remaining points she needs this fall. No pressure, Scott. ;)
