We’re thrilled to announce the return of the Memory Café for a second year! We still have openings.

Thanks to generous grant support, we’re once again able to offer this special program designed for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. The Memory Café offers a unique opportunity to connect—with gentle horses, with meaningful memories, and with one another.

Through shared moments, storytelling, and the calming presence of these beautiful animals, participants can rediscover joy, create new memories, and build bonds within a warm and welcoming community.

We’re back in the swing of things this week, and our participants are diving into some exciting new skills!

This week’s focus is on posting the trot—a rhythmic rising and sitting motion that helps the rider stay in sync with the horse’s natural two-beat trot gait. It’s all about timing and feel, and our riders are doing a great job learning the rhythm!

We're also working on the two-point position (also known as the "half-seat"). In this position, the rider lifts slightly out of the saddle, maintaining balance and control primarily through the legs—specifically the knees and thighs. This position is essential for developing a strong seat and better communication with our equine partners.

Both of these techniques are vital building blocks for confident, connected riding. Great job to everyone for their hard work and enthusiasm this week!
