Say hello to Dr. Zachary Houghtaling, our new Medical Director at Hamilton Animal Hospital!

He’s passionate about bringing in new tools and therapies—think AI-powered diagnostics and new allergy treatments—to help make workdays smoother, more fun, and even more effective.

Outside of work, Dr. Houghtaling is all about sports (UW and Seahawks!), makes a killer New England Clam Chowder, and has owned six motorcycles so far—he’s already eyeing his next ride in California.

AAHA Accreditation Day was earlier this week, and we want to take a moment to celebrate all our hospitals who provide the best care every single day. Only about 15% of veterinary hospitals in the U.S. and Canada earn AAHA accreditation—a rigorous, voluntary process that evaluates hospitals on over 900 standards of veterinary excellence.

A special shoutout to Center Veterinary Clinic, who just passed their AAHA re-accreditation!

Marion recently joined us as an HR Generalist and has already become an integral part of the team. Marion spent nearly 5 years in the Army, and she now brings that same dedication and heart to our mission. When she’s not supporting our teams, she loves to travel and explore new places.

Vistancia Animal Hospital just wrapped up their third annual “Why I Want to Be a Veterinarian” essay contest—and it was nothing short of inspiring. 🐾💛

Each year, the hospital shuts down for a full day to celebrate 13 aspiring young vets from the Peoria, Arizona community. Students and their families are welcomed with behind-the-scenes tours, live demonstrations, and hands-on experiences—from mock surgeries and ultrasound exams to bandaging and radiology.

This year’s event included:
📸 Local media coverage
📚 Book donations from a children’s publishing house
🎓 Scholarships and stethoscopes for our top essay winners
💬 Career Q&As with veterinary professionals

We’re cheering on these future leaders in vet med—and giving a big shoutout to the Vistancia team, volunteers, and partners who make this possible each year.
