Oh Johnathan-

Meet adorable and oh so handsome Johnathan.

Johnathan was actually born in our sanctuary when we saved his Mom from a breeding situation. She came in as a young puppy so we never expected her to be pregnant but welp surprise!

Johnathan is a big beautiful extra large Presa Canario. A powerful mastiff breed. He is the epitome of goofy dog because of his socialization with people and being raised in the sanctuary. He is a really good ambassador for his breed.

Because Johnathan is a giant breed we elected at the advice of our vet care team to try and wait to neuter to ensure he had the best quality life health wise. Large and extra large breeds need those hormones and closed skeletal systems to ensure healthy longevity. His mother has some sleletal abnormalities that we did not want Johnathan to have so we wanted to make sure he had the very best start. He goes this week to be altered and will be available for adoption in the coming weeks. We will keep you updated on his progress and update when he is officially up for adoption. This extra time in the sanctuary has made Johnathan a great patient boy. Sydney and her staff has gone above and beyond working with him and making sure he has the beat start in a new home.

Johnathan is best friends with Dave the Malinois and the two of them have a deep bond. Although we know its unrealistic to try and find them placement together especially being that they are two very dominant and potentially challenging breeds we are hopeful that anyone who adopts Johnathan will be willing to at least stay in contact with Dave and have meet ups occasionally.

Presa Canarios are a dominant breed and although Johnathan is the very sweetest guy we are looking for a home with giant breed experience ideally with Presa experience. They are a great breed but require a firm but positive owner. They are very large, very powerful dogs and without training can walk all over their owners. Johnathan has had an incredible start here and will be a great addition to the right home. Because if his size and his potential to knock over small children. No children under 10 please.

Oh Odin!

Odin is one of the staffs favorite dogs here in the sanctuary. Its not uncommon for me to pull up amd see Tim on break and Odin in the back of his car wagging. Odin is the bestest guy.

He is wise beyond his almost year of life and after being so let down by humans still wants nothing more than to be with people! He is a kind and loving boy who simply wants to just be with you ❤️

What we do know about Odin os heartbreaking. He had a very hard start. He came into his shelter emaciated with a litter mate as a very young pup after being dumped for dead in the hot Texas dessert. The compassionate shelter whom saved his life spared no expense for both him and his brother and slowly they both came back to life. They were not expected to survive. I truly believe this is why Odin is as kind as he is because of the kindness and compassion shown to him.

After he was healthy again began the daunting task of finding him a home. He had found himself in a very overcrowded area full of animals needing rehomed. He sat for months with no interest so the shelter reached out and asked if we could take him. We were so moved by his soulful eyes and story I knew we could help. He made the long journey from Texas to Ohio.

Odin came to us as a Great dane mix with dwarfism per their vet due to his emaciated state. He is a petite guy. Barely 1/3 the size of a typical Great Dane at 40 lbs.

Odins pros:

❤️Is kennel trained and keeps his suite at the sanctuary clean.
🩷Very mild mannered
❤️Gentle and inquisitive

Odin cons-
🐕Can be nervous meeting new people. Not in a aggressive manner just can be nervous and fall over on his back exposing his belly. Very passive guy
🐕Has never been around cats however because of how great he is with small dogs we don't believe he would mind. We always require meet and greets with all potential animals in the home.

Meet adorable, adoptable, and oh so handsome Mozart!

I've shared Mozarts story before and this distinguished gentleman has yet to receive not one application! I am baffled!

Mozart is a older man at 7 years young but dont let that fool you he still has lots of life left! We don't say he's older we say he's seasoned! The right amount of life experiences to make him the perfect companion.

Mozart is such a kind and lovable gentleman who adores other dogs, loves people of all ages, is mild mannered, and just wants a family of his own. He may walk a bit slower and be a smidge more on the calm side but we know for the right family these are good qualitys! Are you be that family?

Mozart is a questtimated mix of Great Pyrenees and Springer Spaniel. He is a larger boy but not as large as a Great Pyrenees. In my opinion he's perfect🥹

He walks well on a leash
Is kennel trained and keeps a clean suite in the sanctuary.
Is happy, healthy, always smiling, and ready to share his life with a forever family.

Meet Snickers, a sweet little guy who's looking for a family willing to let him blossom at his own pace.
Snickers can be a bit shy when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, but underneath that cautious exterior is an incredibly loving puppy just waiting to build trust. Give him a little patience, a gentle voice, and a few tasty treats, and you'll quickly see his playful personality begin to shine.

He absolutely loves other dogs and gains confidence from having canine friends around. A home with another friendly, confident dog would be a wonderful fit for Snickers and help him continue learning that the world is a safe and fun place.

Once he's comfortable, Snickers enjoys playing with toys, exploring the yard, and happily following his people around. After playtime, he's content to curl up nearby and enjoy some quiet snuggles.

Meet adorable and soon to be adoptable Snickers!

5 month old Snickers (a mini doodle male) was saved from a puppy mill after he was surrendered over to us for space. A decision that ultimately saved him from a potential life of neglect and abuse.

He will be available for adoption in the upcoming weeks and we will be accepting applications for this sweet puppy.

Snickers is great with kids, dogs, cats, and is a great little guy.

One of my favorite parts of sanctuary work is becoming buddies with animals that people say can't be friendly. Ever since I was a young girl I've always been drawn to the slithery, creepy and crawly animals as much as the cute and fluffy ones but my heart especially has a soft spot for turtles and tortoises. 🐢

Bowser was surrendered many years ago by his original owners after an impulse online buy . They realized almost immediately they were unable to provide him with the husbandry that comes with what will someday be a very large snapping turtle so he made his way to us. Immediately I began working with him and from day 1 fell madly in love with this very unique and beautiful guy. Now 4 years later he has stolen my heart and is a very good buddy of mine. He is gentle and tolerant and truly one of my favorites.

After making sure with the division of wildlife that we could take these 2 on and not affect our permit- We will be getting another snapper this week and a red eared slider after their owner sadly passed away. I am excited to give these 2 a safe place to live and open our doors to these amazing animals.

Since we now will have several large turtles and a large tortoise we have decided to provide them with a outdoor area during the day. This area will provide them with daily enrichment and give them an amazing chance to be outside under the warm summer sun and have access to their outdoor pools. We have a 6 foot tall privacy fencing already up but we need some things to help us finalize this project. We already have an amazing winter set up but this would ensure they have full access outdoors safely from sun up to sun down.

We only need to raise $250 in materials to finish this project. We also want to get these 2 into the vet for a well check in the coming weeks. Can you help?

Lindor is a 8 month old mini doodle who was saved alongside 2 other sweet souls from a puppy mill who no longer could keep them. He is a very sweet boy and absolutely dreamy. He just wants to love you.

In the coming weeks he will be fully vetted and available for adoption.
