Last week I made a special delivery of this sweet chucky boy S’more to a special home of first time goat owners. They dove in head first with a little herd (my kind of folks) and I wanted them to have this super friendly guy to start their journey off right and of course it was love as first sight. He is going to have lots of snuggles and grazing in the brush and even has a new play structure.

Tentative ideas: Dolly,…,Golden Boy, Old Red (or Red Whiskey)

The new kids on the block had to take their first solo journey today but they handled it like champs, except for screaming on the way to and from the car. Mommas stayed home this time but everyone is happily reunited and one step braver.

Little mister Freddie Prinze Jr. is growing up too fast and went off to his new home yesterday where he will be part of a herd near a state park on the Olympic Peninsula and all of his wetland grazing skills will pay off as they explore the forest. The herd has all biblical names so he shall henceforth be known as Nathan. I love you Freddie Nathan, be a good boy 💙

Crow and Caw went off to their new home today where they will be friends with a lonely goat who lost her friend and a 4-yr-old and 1-yr-old human. It’s hard to see them go but meeting their kind and caring new family makes me happy to bring goat joy to their home. They already can’t believe how sweet the boys are and sent me a video of everyone running around 🐦‍⬛🐐💚💚

This ivy and blackberry removal project for my friends is complete! It also included pruning of photinia and removal of an old fence within the blackberries. A small portion on the fence was left by request for a neighbor’s backyard wedding.
Stats: 6 trips with goats, 3 without to cut branches and move fencing, 31 total hours.
Duration: 1 month (included time for pruned branches and 4 backyard fires with friends).

2 new mommas are doing great, but have very different styles. Clover is part deer 🦌- she feeds and stashes her kids and then goes about her eating and drinking day - but sometimes she forgets and looks for them.
Jolene is vigilant and demands the kids move with her and stay in a designated place when she is eating, just like my favorite dog-in-training, Cooper 🐶🖤

Well that’s a wrap on the Bourbon Christmas breeding and the 2025 kidding season! 🐐🐐
2 more gold goat babies for Bourbon, a beautiful doeling and buckling. Jolene did amazing and was hassle free, but there was nonstop commotion today due to Lucy’s kids separated and kicked out of the nursery. I’m really rethinking their names and their special treat area 🙈🤦🏽‍♀️
