Meet the full-size herd! All of these guys are here for their well earned retirement.

A few are still rideable and will occasionally go out on a trail ride, but for the most part they get to just eat and exist.

Our smallest equine residents (arguably with the largest personalities)

Dunkin, Cinnabon and Kris (Krispy Kreme) all came to us as laminitic rehab cases.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, and honestly I had a bit of a mental breakdown and questioned all my life choices when this happened - but all is well now.

Willie got himself caught in the fence a couple weeks after he got put out in pasture. I was extremely worried it would be an end of the line scenario with his age and the injury - but Montana Equine did a fantastic job and after just over 3 weeks of jail - he’s free!

He and Waylon rolled and rolled and rolled, and rolled again - and then trotted off to find the other horses.

The big boys just got moved into their new pasture a couple days ago. They’re starting to get themselves into a watering schedule finally.

The first couple days we would bring them over to where the trough is to make sure they remembered how to get there.

We are hoping to get all 7 of our geldings integrated together in our larger (and closer to the house) pasture before winter, to make watering and feeding simpler on the humans.

Just a little Tuesday morning tip for horse identification, you’re welcome!

Also - we have some new residents moving in later today! Any guesses on who they’ll be? (Hint - they are not crocodiles)

This is Jacob. Our golden child. He’s a go anywhere, do anything kinda guy.

Many of you have been able to meet him in person. He is a big ol’ do**us. He lives for cookies, loves scratches and adores kids. He has the personality of a toddler in an almost 2000 # body.

Jake was born as a PMU foal. For those of you who don’t know what that is… He was a by-product of the production of Premarin. A hormone commonly used for menopause symptoms in women, that is acquired from the urine of pregnant mares.

Jake has been in our family since he was a weanling. He will be celebrating his 21st birthday in 2026.

Good morning! ☀️

Wanted to start our first post off by introducing ourselves to anyone on this page who may not know who we are.

We are the Billing family. We live in Three Forks, Montana.

While we don’t consider ourselves a full blown rescue, we do tend to always have quite a few critters (horses in particular) who need a little extra care (hoof or age related), or didn’t necessarily have another option for a home.

We are in the process of filing for our 501c3 to be able to accept donations to help with the care of these horses. We have a few new additions coming in the following weeks - and will post updates about them as we go.

Thanks for following along!
