WE ANIMALS
Thanks to the hard-working team at We Animals, the world's leading animal photojournalism organization, for exposing the slaughter risks to displaced wild horses and the crucial rescue role played by dedicated sanctuaries like Skydog, in the latest We Animals newsletter.
The caption reads:
Rescued horses graze in a flower-filled meadow at Skydog Ranch and Sanctuary. The sanctuary provides refuge in a vast landscape to about 300 rescued wild horses and burros. Many of these equines come directly from kill pens or auctions where they are hours away from being shipped to slaughter in Mexico or Canada.
