✨ Preserving the Past. Building the Future. 🐾
At Longleaf Veterinary Associates, we’re proud to offer advanced reproductive services that help preserve valuable bloodlines for generations to come.
Recently, Dr. Barrett, our board-certified theriogenologist, successfully performed a surgical insemination on a German Shorthaired Pointer using frozen semen that had been stored since 1996.
How is that possible? Through specialized cryopreservation techniques, canine semen can remain viable for decades when stored properly. This allows breeders to preserve exceptional genetics long after a stud dog has retired or even passed away.
Whether the goal is to maintain a proven hunting line, preserve breed diversity, or continue an outstanding pedigree, reproductive technologies like frozen semen insemination make it possible to keep these remarkable bloodlines alive.
We’re honored to partner with breeders who are dedicated to the future of their breeds through responsible, science-based reproduction.
If you’re interested in learning more about canine reproductive services—including breeding management, semen collection and evaluation, chilled and frozen semen, fertility evaluations, and breeding consultations—we’re here to help.
