Walker had the BEST time at the LNK TXK 2nd Annual Waggin’ Weiner Run! 🐾🌭

From scoring a delicious pup cup from Sip Shop Drink Co. (safe to say it didn’t last long) to picking out some healthy goodies from Zoey’s Simple Pleasures Dog Treats, this pup was living his best life!

Dogs Delulu was especially proud of him for showing off his good manners the whole time—such a good boy!

We love supporting local vendors—especially when they make tails wag this much.

Already counting down to next year! 🐶✨

Off-leash work like this doesn’t happen overnight—it’s built through clear communication, consistency, and trust.

Walker understands both verbal and physical cues, and just as importantly, there is trust in that communication. That level of reliability comes from taking the time to teach, practice, and build a strong relationship between dog and handler.

At Dogs Delulu, we believe training isn’t about controlling your dog—it’s about creating understanding so your dog can confidently make the right choices, even without a leash.

If you’re working toward better communication, improved obedience, or off-leash reliability with your dog, we’d love to help guide you through the process.

🐾 Training packages are now available—message us to learn more or get started.

Let’s build a relationship with your dog that you can trust—on and off leash.

We offer 30% off training for anyone who shows that their dog was adopted from a shelter or a rescue.

Public servants work hard to support our community and can take 20% off any training package.

Work in public service AND adopt? We thank you, and allow discounts to be combined for up to 50% off!

Announcements on our new Build Your Own Contract are coming soon! We know investing in long term training contracts can be scary and expensive. Using excessive force desensitizes dogs and makes the communication tools we use less efficient, the opposite of our goal in training. It also creates an unsustainable dynamic for the dog and owner based on managing conflict rather than communicating with clarity. Your dog's bloodshot eyes and fresh cough after training are not just from allergies and you don't have to jerk the leash to handle your dog❗ Every dog is different and learns their own way, but no creature learns new skills with threats alone. Punishment is for enforcement, and we can't enforce things we didn't teach them to understand first. That isn't training, it's abuse.

True dog training is based on clear communication and relationship building that allows you to thrive together for years to come. Our K9 Education curriculum was designed by dog trainers who are dedicated to applying current behavioral science and modern teaching strategies to dog training using ethical methods and clear communication. We help dogs learn life skills and understand expectations, while owners learn to communicate and build a relationship with their dog that lasts long after the program ends.

Our goal is to raise industry standards, restore trust in the dog training profession, make K9 Education accessible, and improve the training experience for both dogs and owners.

Worry about what happens in training? We've been there, and know that your concerns are valid. We offer full transparency for our clients, recording every session the owner isn't present for. We explain the methods we apply as we work through behaviors, respect our client's handling expectations, and direct owners to additional resources to help them succeed.

We know better, they deserve better, together we can do better!!!

Blue has been practicing his down stay, holding position in increasingly challenging circumstances for longer lengths of time. His trainer thought this would be more difficult for him, tempting him to move and testing his trust. But he just watched the show as she walked in circles, entertained by the odd behavior while enjoying "free" snacks 🤡🤡🤡

We get to know each dog we teach so we can educate them appropriately. Every dog is a unique individual and good communication requires us to view things from their perspective. Observe the complex mind of Tacos as he practices leash skills with us!

Like people, if a dog has a fearful association to something then they need positive experiences to replace it while building confidence. Roxy is scared of strangers and goes on the offense to avoid defense. Her only association to the leash when we met was wearing it as a safety precaution when guests came over (and she made it very clear that we were lucky she was). We've been patiently building her trust and confidence, so now she's excited to see us and has even become willing to make new friends. She's no longer scared of us but she still associates leashes with scary situations, so we don't want to force the leash on Roxy. We want her to choose to put the leash on and learn to have fun while wearing it! We're so proud of this brave little toaster!

Dogs don't naturally rely on vocalization to communicate so they aren't the best active listeners. Even when we think they understand words, they are usually reading body language to predict expectations and outcomes based on experience. Verbal commands are an advanced skill, so if they don't listen then try showing them instead. With a little practice, they quickly become fluent in dog friendly sign language.

Different learning styles don't make students less smart. Teach differently and you'll be amazed by what you can learn from each other.

Their body language says everything. Takka and Walker understand expectations, regularly check-in with their handler, and read leash instructions with confidence. Both dogs are calm and relaxed, trusting their handler to keep them safe while clearly communicating what she needs from them. Now THAT is impressive!

When we spend time building solid foundational skills first, this is all it takes to effectively communicate with a leash. The leash is designed to be a communication and safety tool, not an instrument for punishment and domineering control. We know that resorting to excessive force points to a failure in communication between people, while healthy communication builds strong relationships. The relationships we have with our dogs are no different, they just require a different kind of communication.

I'm so proud of this handsome guy! Blue was dumped in what seems like the middle of nowhere. Luckily, he wandered up to a house that offered food and compassion where he's been welcomed to stay, quickly becoming a part of the family. This was our very first leash walk but he's so smart that he made it look like a breeze, using all of his foundational skills to instantly walk like a pro! Whoever dumped Blue had no idea what a great dog they had, thankfully for him, his new owner, and me since I get the pleasure of training him. Way to go Blue!!!
