Water chestnuts are the edible corms of the grass-like sedge, Eleocharis dulcis, native to tropical Africa, Asia, and Oceania. They are also known as water caltrops and are the nut-like fruits of the Trapa genus, native to Europe, Asia, and Africa. Nutrition: High in fiber and potassium, and low in calories and fat, water chestnuts are also a good source of vitamin B6, manganese, copper, and riboflavin.

We offered camping 2018-2022 but took a break to have human babies.
You can bring your family, play with our goats and you're only 10 minutes away from the Temecula Valley Wineries.
We are much cheaper than the resorts and more private.
Right now I'm only allowing up to 3 groups at a time on our 11 acres.

Our goats are working hard today!
We save money on hay when the weeds pop up like this. We don't have our entire property fenced with goat proof fencing. For now we have a portable electric fence with a solar battery and the goats make their rounds. This area takes about a week with my mini goats.

Part 1: How we name our Nigerian Dwarf Goats.

We've been breeding goats for over 8 years. Once you enter the world of goats, especially with registered goats, you'll find different breeders have a specific way they name their goats. There is typically a theme either every year or a name based on the names of the sire/dam. The names also have to have the farm name or initials. The names I'm giving in the video are the "barn" names which is what we actually call them since we aren't going to yell out "Bierbaum's Lady of the Lake" when we want to call them 🤣
When you buy a baby goat, some breeders who sell them registered will let you name them for the registration or not. Some will let you pick from their theme. Some won't let you at all. Each breeder is different. This is why they have barn names.

Our first 2 years we named them after beans.
The next 3 we named them after peppers until we ran out of peppers 😂
Then cookies, Greek/Roman gods, King Arthur's Court and this year they will be named after wine.

If you don't add the glaze then it's not cake right? I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Since we have lemon trees I'm always looking for new ways to use them. This time I tried lemon bread and the result was not what I expected.
I wanted a light and fluffy lemon flavored bread. Instead I got something extremely dense.
I didn't add a glaze because I didn't want the extra sugar but now I see how this recipe is definitely more like a dessert than what I was looking for.
It's tasty but not what I wanted so, I'll keep looking for different lemon bread recipes.
Any suggestions?

I have one Easter Egger Hen that will sometimes leave me a monster sized egg and it's always a double yolk. At least I think it's one. She does this in secret so maybe they all pitch in sometimes, taking turns. I'm sure the process is not pleasant.

We turn our Nachos into a full meal on it's own.
We are trying to make healthier choices in general since my husband has high cholesterol so we're using ground turkey instead of beef.
We also use refried black beans, Nacho cheese sauce, avocado, onion, shredded cheese, reddish, salsa, cilantro and lime.
We do change it up. Sometimes we do shredded chicken or plain black beans.
What do you put on your nachos?

Microgreens are easier to grow than some of the videos I've seen so here is my method.

All you do is pour in some seeds, pour in some water and let them sit.
They can be in the sun or not.
Just rotate the containers occasionally and pour the water over the top every couple of days.
It's a quick, easy way to add some nutrients to your meals.
We like them on our salads, eggs, avocado toast, pasta, etc.

Part 2!
Sorry I'm speaking so quietly. I was determined to get this right and didn't want to wait until the next day so this second attempt ended after midnight and I didn't want to wake anyone up.
Result = SUCCESS!
I learned from my mistake, read a little more and adjusted the recipe.
I've since made 3 additional loaves and adjusted the recipe some more until I think I've achieve a great Goat Milk Bread recipe 🥰

First attempt at making bread with the bread machine I bought during COVID. I never even opened the box and the 50lb bag of flour I bought expired over a year ago!
I opend the box today and found out it was the wrong kind of flour anyway 🤦‍♀️
As you can see, my first attempt failed but it was a learning experience. I will do better on my second attempt!
