Our 2024 Kids

I was out today taking pictures to update our website with the remaining kids we had born in 2024 that haven't sold yet.

We haven't been trying too hard to adopt them out because we have been so busy with our two human babies.

Out of 12 kids born in 2024 we have 6 left. 3 doelings, 2 bucklings and a wether. I have to say Lady of the Lake is my favorite. I won't be sad if she stays forever 🥰. The twin bucklings Uther & Pendragon are the friendliest.

Don't mind their fur. They are shedding right now as we come in to spring.

Who wants to be on our egg notification list?

They are $6/dzn and can be picked up by appointment only.

As we get more eggs I decided that I would rather sell our eggs to our faithful, local followers before anyone else. So, Bierbaum Pepper Farm eggs can be exclusively yours! I'll let you know first when we have them before posting online.

If you would like to be on a notification list please send me a DM with the number of eggs you want and how you prefer to be contacted (text or FB messenger). I'll send out notifications on Sundays when we have eggs available. If I don't send a notification it's because we don't have any.

The chickens are on an organic diet. They eat garden scraps, kitchen scraps and an organic crumble.
They are free range part of the day. We do have a responsibility to protect them from predators and protect their eggs from Ravens who like to steal them. When they are not free range they are in their very large chicken coop that has individual houses that can hold 4-6 chickens per house.

Happy baby goats! It's always fun watching them. Right now I'm going through old footage to get my baby fix. I'm excited for when we get more in July!
These are Miss. Uptown Brown's kids.

I've got spring fever and having the itch to buy a million seeds. Instead, I dug these out of the garage so I could grow something and I wanted to share lol
Microgreens
We love them. For those of you waiting for winter to end but having an itch to grow something green, here you go! Easy and quick to grow indoors. Even if there is snow outside like some of you are dealing with. They actually don't need any sunlight. I just keep them in our kitchen for convenience. No dirt. Just seeds and water. They take around 2- 3 weeks to grow big enough to start eating. We put them on salads, eggs, chicken, etc. You can really put them on anything. A great nutrient boost to add to your meal, plus the satisfaction of growing something already!

We are selling chicken eggs.
$6/dozen, as we have sold them for the last 5 years at this price.
Send us a FB message to check for availability and set a pickup time or you can text us at (951) 392-8524.
Please text, don't call. We get way too many spam calls for me to be answering the phone.

We are not raising our prices even though I'm seeing prices go up every where and our cost to feed chickens has gone up considerably in the last 2 years. I saw one guy selling his eggs for $10/dozen!

I kind of get the price hike though. Consumers more than ever are demanding to know the ingredients in the chicken food and want to know they are free range/pasture raised, all organic. They ask these questions without really knowing what goes in to the responsible care of chickens but that's ok too. They are trying to educate themselves to make informed decisions on their food sources. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Our chickens are fed organic food. Scraps from our garden and vegetable scraps from our cooking as well as an organic crumble to make sure they get all the nutrients they need. I keep a bowl in the kitchen just for them so the organic waste from our meal prep can go to them, or our compost.

They roam our property a few hours a day when we're working outside. We don't let them out 24/7 due to predators (Ravens [who steal their eggs], Hawks, Bob Cats, Coyotes and domesticated dogs that have been dumped by monstrous humans out here) but they have an extremely large coop that they happily return to on their own when we call them.
We even have a chicken swing and toys for them. Unfortunately there is only one hen that likes the swing 😂

It makes me smile to go back to the beginning. This baby is Cayenne. She was born 11/17/2019. Her dam (mother) is Vanilla Bean. The very first goat we brought to our farm in 2017 was Vanilla Bean.
Vanilla Bean is no longer with us on the farm. She retired to a beautiful non-profit farm after she had a pr*****ed uterus and then got cancer.
She was so sweet. We used her when teaching children how to milk the goats because she was so patient. We miss her a lot.
We still have Cayenne though! Cayenne is our best milk producer. She always has triplets when she kidds. She isn't as affectionate as her mom was and tends to run away from her babies but she makes beautiful tri-colored babies.

I've been making updates to our website and I'm pretty proud of it! I'm not a designer or engineer like David is so this doesn't come as naturally to me but I think it's looking pretty good. If any of you have tips or suggestions please let me know!
It is still a work in progress but enough is done that I'm willing to share lol

One of the hazards of working around goats, they are attention seeking demons! Here I am trying to get some work done when the weather is finally nice and Pinto just wants to eat my shirt! This went on for far longer than it should have 😆
