Meet Knox, the Remarkable Red Doberman who is ready for his forever home! Please contact United K9 Academy in Liberty Hill at 512 905 8920 if you are interested in loving this boy forever!
Knox is a stunning red Doberman with a strong and athletic build, weighing between 80-115 pounds. At approximately 1-3 years old, he’s young, full of potential, and ready to take on the world with the right guidance. This healthy and energetic boy shows great promise, though he has some areas of training and socialization to refine. He is a very chill Doberman, loves his people.
Temperament and Socialization
Knox is initially fearful of all people—whether men or women—but once trust is established, he shows a more relaxed and open side. His fearfulness requires patient and consistent bonding to bring out his best qualities. While his behavior around children under 10 years old is unknown, Knox has demonstrated a need for boundaries and proper introductions, especially in new environments.
When it comes to other dogs, Knox doesn’t quite understand personal space and has no concept of play, He enthusiastically gallops up to other dogs, assuming they’ll be okay with his unfiltered excitement. He doesn’t display aggression, but his exuberance and lack of boundaries mean he would benefit greatly from structured socialization and training to learn how to approach and play more politely. Highley recommend he be the only dog!!
Around cats, Knox is curious but not aggressive. He might accidentally overwhelm them with his playful nature, so slow introductions and careful monitoring would be key if he were to share a home with feline friends.
Training and Lifestyle
Knox is crate-trained and can hold his bladder overnight, even when not crated. He’s accustomed to wearing a collar and is comfortable on a leash, although continued leash training will help ensure he’s always polite on walks. In the car, Knox is happy to jump right in, but he must be fastened in due to his lack of spatial boundaries.
A home with a secure fence at least 4 feet high is ideal for Knox. His active nature and size make a safe outdoor space essential for exercise and play.
Food, Toys, and Resource Management
Knox shows no signs of resource guarding with people. He’s comfortable sharing toys and food and allows items to be taken from his mouth without issue. However, his lack of boundaries when playing with other dogs means he needs training to avoid upsetting them during toy or food interactions.
Potential and Recommendations
Knox is a great dog with immense potential. He is eager to learn and shows the ability to take direction, as evidenced by his interaction with an adult female Doberman who helped teach him some boundaries. With continued work, Knox can become an exceptional companion who respects personal space and learns to play appropriately with others.
Patience, consistency, and a structured training plan will help Knox reach his full potential. He’s ready to bond deeply with a person or family who can provide the guidance he needs to thrive.
