SURF's 2nd Riptide and Cavy Show is finally over. Even as part of the show crew, I had a blast. My friends and family were there, even one of my granddaughters. It was her 1st ever rabbit show before 4 months old.

I owe my friends a big thank you for helping me with my rabbits all day yesterday!

I do not know all the results yet, but our rabbits did pretty well. BYL's Fix UR Crown aka Queen here, got at least her last leg to be able to be granded.

The 2 young Blue Americans appeared to do pretty well with both taking with BOV/BOSV at one point. I think the buck took BOSB.

I ended up carrying home some new reds from Highway 64 Rabbitry. I had been waiting on them for a while. According to his post, the broken doe did very well yesterday!

I don't do well taking pictures unless I am reminded to take them.

After the reports are sent out, I will post an update. Today, we "rest" and get over the show hangover feeling while doing only what's necessary.

Packed up for the day and headed to SURF's 2nd Riptide Rabbit and Cavy Show! It's set to be a good time. I will be bringing some kits tomorrow for some time getting handled and checked out by some fellow breeders. It's nice to get outside opinions so you don't get barn blind.

Today, I got off work and stopped by the store. I went to feed and water the rabbits. At this point, I found a NZ kit (yes not an ARBA recognized color) was missing. I didn't fully latch the cage. So, my son helped me catch the pretty well camouflaged doe. She is cleaned up and calming down before going back to mom.

When people say count kits, this is one of the reasons.

Over the past couple of days, our kids have been bringing rabbits inside to me to be groomed.

Typical grooming includes basic hair care, nail trimming, ear and teeth checks and scent gland cleaning if needed. I also take the time to check the "goods" to make sure there are no issues. Sometimes, that extra step can help me figure out who is ready to breed, if hormones are playing a parting their moodiness, or if an injury has occurred.

For a bunny who has injured teeth, it would mean a quick tooth trimming.

This weekend there were 2 shows that I would have enjoyed attending, New Zealand Nationals and Carolina Rabbit Rebellion. From what I have heard so far, my friends had a blast and some did very well! Hope to catch up soon. Congratulations!

I know there were other shows going on as well, but I have not heard the results yet.

This past week has had me crying, happy, and sad.

The RAV4 has been totaled, but it did it's job by keeping my son safe. He walked away with a concussion, bruises, and stitches.

So, please bear with me as it will take some time to get caught up on pictures and such.

On a happy note, our son picked out a truck to lease and seems happy with it. It just means more farm chores can be done without switching vehicles.
