Hey everyone... I'm a bit zombified (is that a word?) today 😵💫
The past month as been a doozy, I know everyone is feeling it already in the rescue world and I apologize for not posting a thank you to supporters who've sent food/supplies my way... especially since we need to do another food ask since everyone is out of feral food...
My list since getting back from NY to see family...
1. New friendly (ish) black kitten appeared at colony where cats are all fixed (Bonkers --- was recently adopted)
2. Limping black cat at same colony, patched up and released and is fine
3. Margarita (female cat) new spot (all teeth removed) ... the other female cat I trapped gave birth overnight (current Catty Shack residents, probably should name them too!)
4. New colony discovered at cemetary, grey kitty ER visit, unfortunately had to be euthanized... we've secured spots to trap all 12+ cats at the end of June to TNR ... feeding colony added to my daily route
5. Helped fellow rescuer trap kittens in drainage pipe
6. Hoarder/Breeder location... grabbed last 3 kittens that were outside, planning on trapping two Moms tomorrow, one will need eye removed --- Discovered more kittens and cat in this general area that need help... plus cane toad infestation
7. Another spot with Mom and single surviving kitten... property owner won't allow me to trap and told me to get off her property, working on how to become friends to get permission or next steps to save kitten and spay mom with or without her consent
8. Two other locations with litters of kittens (just can't bring into Catty Shack while I have Mom and nursing kittens... searching for immediate placement for when I trap new litters)
9. Trapped New friendly calico cat at Honda yesterday along with her 3 kittens, setup their foster Mom with food
Unfortunately on top of all this one of our two outdoor kitties Gerald was struck and hit by a car... we have no idea what he was doing all the way by the road that night but it happened and we're gutted 💔
Gerald after a few years of feeding was just allowing me to pet him and enjoying it, his brother Squatch is much friendlier... so we have taken him to the vet for checkup and vaccinations etc... and have been getting him used to staying on our porch...
I know there's lots of other people who do have boots on the ground EVERYDAY, feeding, trapping, educating that are feeling the strain already and it's only the end of May 🥴
I just want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who supports what I'm doing with comments, shares, donations etc... I appreciate you all and WILL try to start doing more LIVE vids and other posts to acknowledge you more 🥰
