It’s taken a while for me to wrap around my head around Izzy’s diagnosis: a brain tumor. Possibly two, and maybe a stroke. It’s all so grey. She is the sweetest girl we know and has handled it the best she knows how. She’s still sweet but doesn’t know many commands anymore, and is a little d***y with her right side as she doesn’t realize she has a right side anymore. That’s the cruelty of brain tumors. People and dogs have no control of their sensory or motor function (dependent on tumor location), and it can even effect personality. We are so grateful that she’s still sweet as ever and doesn’t suffer from seizures.

Our hearts are broken, because she is our fur kid. It’s one of the hardest things we’ve had to endure.

Radiation was offered, but as she is almost 12, we don’t think it’s fair to put her through that. Thus, we have gone the palliative and hospice route. We are trying to take her wherever we can go. If work allowed, I’d be carrying her around in a backpack. She’s getting all the snacks and human foods. For now, she’s comfortable.

We appreciate all of our customers and apologize for any future delays. Bear with us in this season of life and hug your fur kids a little tighter.
