Tacoma Urban Farm

Tacoma Urban Farm Home of the world famous Wall-O-Food and the main location for Urban Harvest Exchange This is a charity garden. https://freshfoodconnect.org/

The idea behind this urban farm is to show that it is possible for anyone to grow food for their family and community. Most everything on this farm is repurposed materials and donated seeds. The idea was to produce enough for my family and neighborhood but also enough to make donations to the Tacoma Rescue Mission and local food banks Follow this link to find out how you can help too.

We caught the folks stealing from our garden on camera. They came prepared with flashlights and poked around our garden for over ten minutes last night.
They've taken over 200 lbs of food from our garden this month. A majority of it wasn't even ripe yet.

We put up signs after 2 of our squash were taken a couple weeks ago.

This morning we found most of our pumpkins, blue Hubbard squash, and butternut squash were taken. The food we were growing was to be donated to Tacoma Rescue Mission & Hilltop FED and now we don't have much to share.

This makes us both angry and sad.

We had a big squash harvest this morning; lower salmon river, Blue Hubbard, and spaghetti squash.

We'll be curing the winter squash for a couple weeks in a sunny window in our dining room before donating them to Tacoma Rescue Mission and Hilltop Action Coalition Hilltop FED.
