It’s meet a horse Monday!

Doc is a 9-year-old, 15.1 hand Quarter Horse originally from Illinois. He’s been a favorite teacher in our lesson program for almost five years, and he truly lives up to his name — a little scoop of everything you could ever want in a horse!

Best known for his versatility, Doc can show off his smooth jog one minute and pop around a jump course the next. Whether you’re learning the basics or leveling up your skills, he’s always ready to help you shine.

And here’s a fun fact: he earned the nickname “Squishy” because of his irresistibly soft nose and sweet-as-sugar personality. If you’ve met him, you get it.

It’s meet a horse Monday!

This weeks star is “Hunters Gold Bar” aka Devon!

Devon is 10 years old and was bought in 2019. His rare color is an eye catcher, you don’t see many palomino appaloosas! This boy was bred as an english pleasure horse but excels in the hunter and jumper ring.

Devon teaches english, western, beginner, and advanced lessons! You’ll often catch him with a happy expression off farm, whether that’s at a show, trail ride, or hunter pace. He loves traveling as much as some of us do!

“Airborne” aka Oliver is in this weeks spotlight!

Oliver is 17 years old and has been on the farm since 2019. This boy lives up to this show name! He has taken many of our riders from walk trot to jumping in the show ring.

From rodeo to hunters, he’s got your back. He’s helped nervous riders overcome fear, kids gain confidence, and well seasoned riders master advanced movements. What’s your favorite memory with Oliver?

Meet this weeks star: Stonewall!

Did you know that Stoney is the reason The Common Stables opened? Kate bought him when he was 3 years old. Through the process of training Stoney she found her passion for training and teaching!

Now 21 years old, Stoney is a lesson horse extraordinaire and has taught nearly every student who’s come through our gates. He steals the hearts of kids, parents, and everyone in between!

Surprise! 🎉

Have you met our newest addition, Lulu?

This sweet 19 year old mare is an ex-amish cart horse with a puppy dog personality. We are SO excited to welcome her into our family and watch her develop into a new lesson horse. 🐴

This is a post I was hoping not to make for many more years but sadly life never goes to plan. As some of you know we lost our beloved Ziggy today unexpectedly.

Ziggy, you brought light to so many lives while you were here. You will be so incredibly missed sweet girl. Rest in the sweetest peace.

We had a fantastic time at our 3rd annual games day on Sunday! Our riders showcased their skills in the saddle while also working as a team to handle their horses and learn their courses. We were happy to have Stargazer Farm and the Nichols College Equestrian Team in attendance as well!

Our lesson program is expanding! The Common Stables is in search of another lesson horse. The most ideal contender would be
-15-16h
-6-14 y/o
-wide, think draft X or chunky QH
-a solid citizen, safe, no spook, no dangerous quirks
-able to teach WTC & crossrails
-located within 2 hours of Sutton MA
-under the 5 figure mark

Reasonable maintenance is fine and expected, this horse will be spoiled! Does not have to be fancy, just safe!
