🌱 Before You Add That New Plant to Your Tank… READ THIS 🐌
You might think you’re just bringing home a cute little plant…
But surprise… you could also be importing a full-blown snail army 😅
If you want to keep your tank pest-free, dipping your plants is a MUST. Here’s how to do it safely and easily 👇
🧪 Option 1: Alum Dip (Safest + Most Popular)
• Mix 1 tablespoon of alum per gallon of water
• Soak plants for 12–24 hours
• Rinse REALLY well before adding to your tank
✅ Gentle on plants
🚫 Kills snails & eggs
🧪 Option 2: Bleach Dip (Fast + Strong)
• Mix 1 part bleach to 19 parts water
• Dip plants for 1–2 minutes ONLY
• Rinse thoroughly
• Then soak in water with dechlorinator for extra safety
⚠️ Too long = dead plant
💀 Kills everything (snails, eggs, bacteria)
🧂 Option 3: Salt Dip (Quick + Easy)
• Mix 1 cup aquarium salt per gallon of water
• Soak for 10–15 minutes
• Rinse well
👍 Good for many pests
⚠️ Some delicate plants may melt
🔥 Pro Tips:
• Always remove dead leaves before dipping
• Use a separate container (not your tank!)
• When in doubt… QUARANTINE your plants for a few days
🐌 Real Talk:
Skipping this step is how you wake up one day with 200 “mystery” snails you never bought 😂
