This is another rehab I am working on with the help from Dr Dr. Tula, DVM LARC TEST USA .
Jackson is a gelding that originally hurt his DDFT, then the owner at the time did a nervectomy (cutting of the nerve/tendon in his leg) to block the pain. He was then bought by a young girl to learn how to run barrels. I started Acuscope-Myopulse Therapy and Ozone as a maintenance for them. Then he became sore again. I took him in and had some xrays and ultrasound done. Changed his shoeing as he also had some navicular changes. I had PRP/prolozone limp profusion injections done in his fetlocks. This is the area he had inflammation and was painful in. I have continued with ozone therapy, Acuscope-Myopulse Therapy, bodywork, k-tapping.
I reached out to Dr Tula to help me with a conditioning program specifically for him and his injury. She sends me a weekly conditioning program tailored for him! It started with lots of hand walking, light riding on different surfaces. (Arena, hills and firming ground) doing this will get him in the best condition and help prevent injuries to his legs again. (70% of horses are not properly conditioned after a injury and will reinjure themselves)
I am on week 8 with his program and I am ecstatic with his progress and results.
Will post more on his progress and the other 2 rehabs I am working on.
If you would like more information about rehabbing a horse with a injury please reach out to me or Dr Tula. She specializes in recovery, rehabilitation and conditioning of horses. She is the founder of the LARC Testing.
