Europeans by Wheely will be at the Waverly Gun Show next weekend. Even though it's still summer, hunting season is approaching quickly, no better time to get ready for this fall.

Europeans by Wheely will be back at the Cresco Wildlife Club's Sports show and Swap Meet at the Howard County Fairgrounds Expo Hall August 1st 3pm to 8pm and August 2 8am to 3pm. General: $10.00 kids 12 and under are FREE.

This is a european mount of a Barbary sheep aka Aoudad ram. A native species of north and west Africa, they were released in the Palo Canyon of Texas in 1957 - 58 to attract hunters to the area. Since then they have become overpopulated and dangerous to native vegetation and species. My customer got this one with his bow, which is an incredible accomplishment with free range Aoudad. I didn't have the ability to boil this so I sent it to Beetle Juice Skull Works to have his beetles do the hard work. It turned out awesome.

Couldn't find my tripod for the camera so you only get one turkey in the picture instead of two. Well my season ended at 9 this morning. Two days of hunting and two nice toms tagged. 23.5 lbs, 10 5/8's beard and spur was 3/4's the other 7/8's. I'm not going to miss getting up at 4 but I am sad it's over. Good luck to everyone still hunting. Have fun and stay safe.

Opening day of 4th season was a good day. He was very stubborn but finally committed to the decoys and it was all over at 12:30. 22 lbs, 7/8's spurs and a 9 inch beard. Good luck to everyone hunting 4th season and stay safe.

And that's a wrap on the euro's for the 24 - 25 season. Now the freezer is empty and ready for tanned hides.

Happy Friday folks. Update on your mounts. I almost have 2023's deer done. I've been out of commission the last couple of weeks due to an infection, I finally got put on antibiotics yesterday so hopefully I can start feeling better soon. I'm not going to boil any Euro's until the weather gets to the point where I can have all the windows open all day long. Last season's deer hides are the tanner and won't be done until May at the earliest. Once I'm done with 23's deer the last of the repro fish I have left to do will be top priority. Like I tell all my customers, when your mount is done you will be the first to know. I hope everyone has a great weekend.
