Phase 1 of the Shop Update complete! :) Nine brand new Bella Bunnies, redesigned for an even cuter look. They are up in the shop and ready to go! In the next week or so, there will also be new Narwhals and Custom Photo Magnet Sets! And as always, I am happy to take any custom orders!

This is my latest custom order. I have made a few giant plushies before, but I think this one wins the prize for biggest!! As you can see, it is much larger than 2 year old Cole! This was made using cherished newborn outfits, hats, and blankets from one of my customers. A great way to keep those sweet memories around from when they were tiny babies. I hope little Ben loves his new big giraffe!

A group of narwhals is either called a "tusking" or a "blessing". I can't decide which sounds better. I guess it depends on my mood! ;) These little guys will be listed within the week, ready to go to their new homes!

175 tanukis (plus 1 giant one).... Done and done! I am pretty sure this is the largest gathering of tanukis in recorded history. A big big thank you to my helper elves! Now to pack these up.... Off to Sakura-Con they go!!

If you don't know what a Tanuki is (I didn't, before this), it is a Japanese raccoon-dog. I copied this from wikipedia- "The animal has been significant in Japanese folklore since ancient times. The legendary tanuki is reputed to be mischievous and jolly, a master of disguise and shapeshifting, but somewhat gullible and absentminded. It is also a common theme in Japanese art, especially statuary." These adorable little guys are such fun to make! One of their special features is their raccoon-like black stripes on the sides of their faces. To get this look, I hand carved a rubber stamp and used black fabric paint to stamp it right onto the face. Each Tanuki is holding a sakura (cherry) blossom between his paws, and also has a soft, furry tail. Very cute :) I made 175 of them, and they will be for sale at Sakura-Con this March.

I can finally announce my latest project.... Taro the tanuki, Sakura-Con's official plush for 2013!! I will add more pictures soon! :)

Sakura-Con is proud to present our 6th plush! Taro the tanuki was inspired by this year's 2nd place mascot winner. A limited number of plush will be available on Friday and Saturday morning at both the Exhibits Merchandising booth and Main Merchandising booth located in front of main events. A large plush was created for Sakura-Con's Make-A Wish Charity Auction. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is 501c3 non-profit organization devoted to fulfilling the fondest wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.
